This is a piece of junk. The LLD stopped working after 24 hours. The trident is doesn't work and fell apart easily. Build quality is very poor to say the least. Overpriced pieces of junk. Regret buying this
Right from the start various accessories didn't work. Then less than 3 months in and the trident water analyzer stopped working. Trying to work with Neptun Systems to get it working but so far no luck.
Picked up the Apex Pro/Trident combo at my LFS. Beyond the pain of redoing wires, it was a decent install. Allocating names to outlets and setting rules was easy. Getting the one link cable for the Trident into the Energy Bar was a pain as how I had to mount it in my cabinet orientated the inputs towards the back of the stand. I had to unmount the energy bar and rotate it with all of the wiring in place to try and set the cable. A reversible bracket would be nice so the inputs can always face the front of your stand. The Trident was an easy set up out of the box. It does have a high pitch noise when running but I can't hear it from another room. The LLS is inaccurate telling me my ATO level is going up and down without me refilling it. Will probably swap to the optical as its more useful. Testing results are coming in from the Trident and probes. It is far more accurate than matching colors. Has allowed me to adjust dosing to even results out. Waiting on the Trident NP to fully manage the water. App features are nice but need more customization so I can focus on what is important to me primarily rather than a universal layout. Cost is up there as this is a luxury item for reefing but once you have a full tank of corals, it becomes more of an investment to try and ensure what you have built doesn't die.
Had mine for 4 years works great I have most of the modules, best controller for ur aquarium
I don't know how I lasted without Apex Controller for 2 years. This is a game-changer! Love it is easy to install and works perfectly! Customer service is very helpful.
im on my 4rd trident exchange now with neptune systems, 3rd one just crapped out on me. to give you an idea i purchased the 1st one from brs 11-14-22 its now 4-5-23. so within the warranty claim i had 3 faulty tridents and now they stopped all communication with me and wont respond to my rma submissions. refuse to give me service and refuse to fix as well as refuse to refund me my money and BRS is also not giving me my money back either. ill never buy another neptune systems product again, every time u submit a rma process ticket you literally have to wait 1 week before they even respond to you with anything. STAY AWAY FROM NEPTUNE TRIDENT!!!!! ITS COMPLETE GARBAGE AND THERE ARE MANY OTHER OPTIONS! THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A HUGHE SCAM. i was charged 300$ every time i had to send the broken one in that only last 5-6 weeks each. yes everyone of them were brand new and got to open the new box.
Going on a couple years running my apex it works very well.
nought the bundle with the apex pro, trident, dos, energy bar and all the bells and whistles. 11/20/22 approx d.o.p. 2 weeks after setup trident stoped working, apex fusion discconects every day with solid internet connection. lls uncalibrates, had to calibrate temp probe several times and still. currently in the works of 3 months back and forth with neptune systems trying to resolve, exchanged program with trident, send a new one and that one didnt work out of the box after setting it up specifically with neptune systems, the only thing that works right now is ph probe, temp probe and the energy bar. dos doesnt dose excatly even after calibration. i feel ripped off. sent 2 bbb complaints in 3 months. system worked for almost 3 weeks properly after i bought it then everything started to stop working after one by one. everything mounted outside of tank stand and away from liquid even bought the special board to mount evertything to. ill never purchase a neptune product again after spending almost 2k. 0 stars
The ability to have a computer run tests for me through out the day and then use my phone to dial in the Neptune DOS. Talk about the future. I haven’t even gotten into the power bar, the probes, and all the additional things I can do yet! Neptune has some great products and I can’t wait to see what comes out in the future!
After owning the Neptune Apex with the Trident unit for a year and a half I'm having problems getting tech help. If you want help it takes 7 days before you can schedule an appointment. They will not take phone calls. They use the same voice message as BRS. What is going on?
Wi-Fi connection is alittle spotty and it requires a constant 24 hr connection to setup heartbeat which I don’t think you’ll be able to do unless you have a hard wired connection. With the exception of receiving a bad apex and LLS , which Brs replaced within 2 days, everything set up pretty easily and does a good job keeping you informed of your tanks parameters. I will say I noticed about a .6 dkh difference from my Hanna checker and the apex but as long as you do a couple comparison checks you can establish a median and use that for your dosing so in my opinion works great, it’s just like everything though, don’t trust it completely, compare and accommodate for the fact that nothing is 100% accurate.
I have been using all these Apex Products for the last 4 years (1 for Trident). I have had Issues with product durability, however every time Apex Tech Support and Warranty has came though. Morgan and Carlos have been Life Savers. I feel like the Company Cares about my tank and their product.
I spent three months staring at these boxes dreading the install but what a mistake. This system was very easy to install and is working perfectly. My trident supply hose was originally clogged bc it had been compressed in the box with the trident kinking the hose. After a fee tries of squeezing and blowing water thru it I got it up and running. This really takes this hobby to the next level…
