Nyos Nitrate Minus is a high purity liquid supplement designed to biologically reduce nitrate levels in marine and freshwater aquariums. It acts as an organic carbon source that fuels the growth of specialized bacteria responsible for converting nitrates into harmless nitrogen gas. This process helps maintain a healthy, nutrient balanced environment essential for thriving corals and fish.

The formula utilizes a unique dual action blend providing both immediate reduction and long lasting bacterial establishment without containing toxic methanol. While primarily focused on nitrate control, it also facilitates a secondary reduction in phosphate levels through efficient skimmer removal of resulting bacterial films. It is suitable for aquariums targeting nitrate levels between 5 and 15 mg/l and comes in various sizes including this 250 milliliter bottle.

This product is best suited for reef keepers seeking to prevent nuisance algae growth while promoting better coral coloration and growth rates. Whether used as a permanent maintenance solution or a temporary treatment for spiking nutrients, it offers flexible application for sensitive reef inhabitants. Hobbyists prioritizing biological purity and safety will find this methanol free option ideal for maintaining pristine water conditions.
