Got 3/4 of the pests off my coral and the other was picked off with tweasers during the dip.
This is a good product but if you like sps it will not work on red bugs or black bugs or aefw
This product seems to work very well. It was easy to use.
learned the hard way, now nothing goes into my tanks unless dipped first... excluding fish of coarse...
it does what it says it does, no corals make it into my tank without a dip in this stuff.
Removed several pests from my new corals
Amazing stuff!! works just like they state, high quality, and you can see the parasites fall off the corals!! I dip every coral now regardless of where i get it! Try it you will not be disappointed!
Washed a lot of entrenched flat worms and detritus off my corals and rock that had not moved in over 2 yrs. No negative side effects noted. Easy to use.
Its hard to review a product like this if you aren't a chemist or work in a lab, lets be honest. But I can tell you that when you use it the results will be obvious. Any hitchhikers on your corals will go running when you dip. Im probably gunna use it on live rock in my next setup
One sec in the dip and the redworms came flying out like they were set on fire. Nice to know the pests wont get in the tank or screw up my corals
Purchased this as I was getting some frags for the first time and wanted to dip first. All I can say is I am glad I did. I had about 4-5 different hitchhikers that came floating off while dipping. I now dip ever coral I get.
Works great. Got some unwanted critters out of my corals before placing them in my tank. I even like the smell of it. :)
Its amazing what gets removed from your new coral after using the material. Doesn't take long for pets to scramble off your coral once submersed in a coral dip solution. I will ALWAYS use this dip.
This stuff is fantastic. I had a red flatworm infested specimen that I needed to cleanse before I moved it to a different display tank. 7 minutes in this stuff and they all look to be gone. That and a pretty sizable bristle worm I didn't know existed in the piece crawled out and died.
All new corals get treated with this product before putting in our system and so far no new pests have been introduced! I do have to give one caveat, although I am extremely happy with this product, we have some nasty red planaria that think this stuff is a nice massage. Another thumbs up for this product is that it helped bring back a couple corals from the dead. Seriously! The corals were succumbing to slow tissue necrosis and after dipping, they are slowly coming back! That is something that will make any reefer smile...
This stuff is amazing. A total necessity for dipping for protection of pests, however this stuff is amazing to rejuvenate corals. Like a day at the health spa for corals.
I was/am new to reefing and using a product I never heard of gave me pause. I was very glad that I did order and use this, I couldn't believe what came off my corals. I won't add another coral to my tank without using this first. Great stuff.
Coral rx is needed if you're running a tank with coral theirs no other way to put it. I used this stuff and you should've seen the stuff falling off my corals!!!! I'll never keep a reef tank without this.
Bought this as an afterthought with a bunch of other stuff. I thought, for $3 I might as well give it a try. Tried it on a piece of montipora digitata I got from the LFS with no real expectations. You should have seen the thing that came crawling out of that. Tons of tiny things, copopods, even a bristle worm. Now I dip EVERYTHING.
I use this EVERYTIME I bring corals home from my local fish store. It's simple to use and important. It takes less than 10 minutes and provides me with confidence that along with new corals, I am not adding unwanted hitchhikers to my tank that will destroy it. It's a bargain!
As far as frags go....it's the best thing since sliced bread. Keep in mind, it does have a shelf life.
I had an Ich outbreak and to help eliminate it, I gave my live rock a bath in this and everything that I wanted on the rock was fine. worked like a charm!
I am pretty neurotic when it comes to what goes in my tank and I unfailingly dip every piece of new coral as,soon as I get home. Over a year ago I got some montipora eating nudibranches. No dip that I know of will kill the eggs. The hatched nudibranches are a different story and are easily and quickly killed by Coral Rx. I was able to dip my montiporas every few days for a few weeks and get rid of them for good. Coral Rx pro is my favorite dip and the only one I now use. The little 1oz bottle is very concentrated and will go a long way. I am still using the last bottle I bought over a year ago. Highly recommended product!
It was very effective with no bad effects to corals.
I dip all of my corals in Coral Rx, it kills nudibranch's and most pests. I have found that red flatworms can survive the dip however so I do two dips. I dip first in the Coral Rx and then in Flatworm Exit and I haven't had a problem since. You have to make sure that you want to remove the brittlestars away from the rock if you don't want to kill them, because it will. I don't have a single coral in my tank that hasn't went through the Coral Rx dip.
I own a LFS here in the San Antonio area and I do a ton of fragging and love this stuff. It I is an amazing product not only fragging but also to help bring coral back that's not doing to good. The money it will save you by saving your coral is worth it ten times over.
Coral Rx is a must have for any reefer. It's great dip that's pulled many unwanted critters from new corals before they were added to my tank. I've also used it with great results to turn around corals in poor health. A good dip and solid chemistry go a long way toward keeping your reef healthy.
I have used Coral RX many times and it seems to be both safe and effective. None of the coral I have dipped in it seemed to be excessively stressed from the treatment although I would recommend rinsing the coral very well before putting it in your tank. Although it doesn't instantly kill them, many pests will drop off the coral, particularly if you shake the coral after a few minutes or use a turkey baster to spray water on it during the dip. Also seems to be free of highly toxic chemicals which is a nice change from many aquarium products.
I interchange this with Revive. I dip all new frags before they go in to the tank. Havent had a bug issue at all and the corals dont seem to mind sitting in a bath of this for 10 minutes after acclimating. Hard to say though if its the Rx working or I just havent had any frags with bugs on them.
I have had corals for awhile now, but recently purchased a frag in Tennessee. While in qt I noticed a flat worm on the base of the plug, so I jumped on Bulk Reef and ordered this miracle in a bottle. Followed the directions and more then a flat worm fell off. I decided to dip a few others and I was completely amazed of the creatures that came off while using this product. Never again will a coral go in my tank without dipping with Rx.
Effectively removes what should be, all without hurting the coral. I use the Pro, it's easy to mix and a little goes a long way.
What a great product! Bought a few zoa frags today from a new store in Atlanta area. I used 17oz of tank water and 6 drops of Coral Rx concentrate and as soon as I dropped the frag in, immediately 3 hitchhikers came out. After 5 mins other small pests were in the bottom of the bowl. Rinsed the frags off and placed in tank and the zoas were opened back up beautifully in less than 15 min. Never again will I trust anything going into my tank without using this first.
I dip all my corals now with this stuff, and have definitely seen nasty things fall off. Even though it's hard to say that the corals would not have done as well without dipping, the peace of mind is well worth it. The 1 oz bottle is easy to use and should also last a long time.
This product works really well for keeping unwanted spieces of nudi's, flatworms, red bugs, you name it. Just make sure you brush the coral and plug off with a toothbrush to get any eggs off so they don't enter your tank.
I've used CoralRX for a year, and am always amazed to see what it kills off my new corals. I've never seen any negative effects on corals, and it even smells great.
So I bot this really nice lps but after I put it in my quarantine tank but it started to bleach out and was getting smaller so I dipped it and putti back in the tank and after a few weeks it had already grown a new oral disk and was thriving.
Pests will jump off almost immediately.
i went to my first swap and got a few frags (all small ones) i dipped them in this solution and blast them with turkey baster and shake them. to my complete surpurse. those 4-5 small frags had over 8 bristle worms on them. there were also some other pests that i dont know what they were. this solution rocks. people who brings frags to swap should dip them before bring them to the swap. i wish the solution could also help removing red bugs. this is a must buy!
What better way to keep your own reef disease free than to keep all the bad critters out of your tank to begin with! Great product, keeps my tank safe after any new addition!
I dip all frags, I purchase in this. Follow the directions and you will see all the organisms fall off the coral.
Used it for the first time today. Put a rock with a mushroom on it. After 5 minutes a bristle worm popped out, a couple minutes later another came out. Nice to know hitchhikers are not getting into my tank.
This dip performs exactly as advertised. I've used this on all of the coral I put in my tank and it's done a great job at keeping the hitchhikers out.
I use this on all my corals before they go in the tank, except for the sponges. This seems to make the corals go in with a better chance of survival and gets rid of all the nastys. The only thing it doesn't really get rid of is bristleworms. I leave the corals in for a full ten minutes, but they seem to make it through the dip. Other than that it's good stuff.
This is packaged carefully from BRS. It is a glass bottle and it is even put in a plastic bag, then wraped well in bubble wrap. The product itself is well worth it. Nothing is worth introducing into your tank. Purchase this stuff to keep everything happy
great for what ails you. easy to use and quick results.
I have been using this for a few months now and I must say it's some good stuff. I see all the little creatures that fall off after soaking corals in this. Much better than them being in my tank. I recently got a bunch of live rock that I new was infested with brissle worms and other nasty bad guys. I treated the entire lot with this stuff, I had to sacrafice a couple stars and crabs but it was much better than drying the rock out and starting over. This stuff works like a champ and it even smells a bit like Pine Sol. I highly recommend dipping your corals with this stuff.
I use this product on EVERY SINGLE CORAL that goes into my tank. I follow the directions on the back of the bottle and do not make alterations. I have in the past used IODINE dips but it is very technique sensitive to get effective dosage / concentration without KILLING your corals. With Coral Rx I think the product is MUCH MUCH more forgiving.
At first I thought this was expensive, for what you get, but realized there is great value in it, unless you are dipping a ton of corals. The bottle is rougly 6x the price, and while you do get far more than 6x more product, I find the bottle just sitting there getting closer and closer to the expiration date. For a single frag swap, these things are wonderful. Makes a gallon of dip, which is plenty for almost all the frags you will have that day. I like a stronger dose, so I will use 1/3-1/2 gallon of water per "one shot". No coral losses yet, and actually founds some red planaria on one of my corals. Happy I dipped before placing in the tank!
great coral dip but expired so fast. i purchase coral rx in mid Jan expired on Oct of the same year.
The only dip I use. If you are reading looking for advice, buy it, be happy, and don't worry about your corals. Many people will dip their corals and place them in their tank. I will dip mine with the Coral Rx Pro and then place them in Q tank for a couple weeks to be safe. Zero problems so far.
I use this product for every piece of Coral I put into my tank. It works great I never had any problems with any bugs or any sort of disease on my corals. For $20 a bottle I don't see a reason why you wouldn't buy this.
Coral Rx is a great product for new corals and kills the bad stuff you don't want. My only complaint is the bottle I received expired after 2 months.
I had a flat worm problem in my tank. Nothing really worked. When I moved everything to a larger tank I soaked all corals and live rock in this product. After a few months I have yet to see a flat worm. One note though. There was a slight die back of the coraline algea but in grew back rather quickly.
I am very active in moving a lot of corals, I have used many brand of dips and Coral Rx is my dip of choice. Have dipped hundreds of corals and other dips have missed pests, Coral rx will strip the coral clean.
I purchased the Coral RX for ridding my live rock of Acoel Flatworms. (Clear) I was going to be transferring some rock to a bigger tank. I have a small issue with these worms. As they are not harmful to the system or fishes, I did not want them in my new system. I used the coral Rx and soaked the rock with a pump for about 20 minutes. I then rinsed the rock and so far no clear worms in the new system. I will continue to use this product for all coral as I feel proactive prevention should be first on the Husbandry list.
After an AEFW problem I don't bring home corals without dipping them first. It even helped me rid the tank of aefw. It's a MUST for any reef keeper
If I could I would dip my children in this stuff, corals seem to actually enjoy it! I do 12 minutes and have never lost a coral (knock on wood)
I just killed a coral by dipping it with some harsher stuff so the Coral RX seemed very appealing to me. I used it to dip corals I just got and they seemed to take it well and not look stressed at all during the dip. I didn't have tons of bugs falling off my corals or anything but they may have just not had anything on it. I accidently dipped a snail with it and it didn't like it but survived it. It also smells nice (not that it matters) sort of like herbs or pinesol or similar
Amazing. Used it for the first time tonight on all my corals and frags while moving them to my new tank. Tons of crap literally fell off my corals within 30 seconds. I dipped everything from my frogspawn, zoas, mushrooms, gsp, fingerleather and everything is looking great. I won't put any new coral in my tank without dipping with coral rx from here on out. Your crazy if you don't scoop a few bottles up!!!
I haven't purchased this yet but it will be the first thing on my next order. Very happy bulkreefsupply has decided to carry this hard to get product (at least in Canada) Very good reviews on this stuff. Thanks bulkreefsupply for offering another quality product!!
