Works flawlessly for well over a year, would recommend!
I bought this unit to check my temps, everything was working great, I loved it, now it works like Jake Sparrows compass, it is gives me every temperature instead of the correct one. So I would hope that this unit last longer than the original batteries. It seems to be something wrong with wire going into the unit. Happy then Not.
ive had mine for about a year now, in comparison i also use the hanna digital salinity checker which also measures temp. they both read the exact same thing. 1 year old so far.
Incredibly simple to set up and use.
This thermometer has been great for calibrating my Eheim heaters. I also use it to temp-match water changes. It's a great tool to have on hand and can be used for cooking as well.
I use it for checking tank temps, and all my meat cooking. has been very reliable and durable over the last 12 months of use
Very well built unit. It was worth every penny and now I am able to get an accurate reading down to the tenth of a degree when mixing up a fresh batch of water.
Of course Hanna makes great tests, I only just saw they have a thermometer, when I saw that I had to have one. It's super easy to use, and very well built. My controller was about 0.4 degrees off, not that bad, but obviously something to keep track of. My one and only complaint about this is, they include a holder for the device.. But not the probe. Kind of pointless to use the stand if the probe is just dangling off.
After awhile we all end up re-calibrating everything we own for testing. Well after a long drawn out battle with Inkbird, I decided to invest into one of these. Not only were the Inkbirds way off, both of my Apex probes had floated about .5 degrees off calibration. I re-calibrated ALL and now I have peace of mind everything is within my specific ranges.
Nice device, just another little quick checker for peace of mind. Well within .5 degree claim against a certified thermometer.
I've purchased many Thermometers over the years and never really knew how accurate they were and if so, how long. The " HI98509 Checktemp 1 Digital Thermometer" Pros: The case battery door has 2 seals. 1) Door 2) X4 screws that secure the door. Self Cal. at each power up Large Display and a choose between F* and C* Is Built well. Cons: Probe holder would be nice to have
