I had a hard time sourcing crush coral, so took a chance and bought this. And surprisingly it's pretty darn good. No complaints!
Yes it requires a lower pH to dissolve in my reactor but it is phosphate free. My 400 gallon system runs from 8.15 to 8.35 and no issues. If your system can tolerate lower pH effluent from your reactor I highly recommend it. I used reborn before but given the high amount of dosing required to keep calcium levels at 8dkh I struggled with phosphate. My system is loaded with SPS.
I just got a calcium reactor set up on an office display tank using this media, I have my pH set to 6.5 and it’s working great. I haven’t gotten the reactor dialed into the tank quite yet, but with a 6.5 ph my effluent is coming out between 35/36 dkh. Just need to get the dose per minute correct, but the media seems to be acting EXACTLY as BRS described in videos where they tested effluent dkh vs pH of the reactor.
I can also confirm the pH of 6.3. I am going to have to switch because dumping something this acidic in my display is throwing off my Ph. The media requires too low of a melting point. Screw this stuff. I can't use this. I guess I will go try the arm of if I can find someReborn.
I could not find this information anywhere, I cant really do a review on this yet, but I spoke via email with KZ and they recommend a internal PH of 6.3 for this media. I hope this helps.
