This large African Mopani wood piece is designed to enhance your aquarium with a naturalistic aesthetic while providing structural interest for fish. It serves as an excellent hardscape element that mimics underwater environments found in nature, offering hiding spots and enrichment without compromising the visual appeal of your tank.

Sourced from one of the hardest and densest woods available, this jumbo log sinks immediately upon placement and will not rot over time like softer driftwood varieties. The smooth yet textured surface features unique mottled coloring that adds depth to your display. This piece has been sandblasted clean for safety but natural wood leaches tannins which can discolor water and reduce pH levels, so soaking the piece in a separate container with daily water changes is recommended before installation.

This product is best suited for aquarists seeking durable decor that withstands long-term submersion without degrading. Adding extra carbon to your filtration can help minimize any remaining discoloration caused by tannins once the wood is settled. It pairs well with live plants or rockwork to create a balanced habitat suitable for various fish species that benefit from natural structures.
