Two Little Fishies NPX Bioplastics are an innovative granular plastic media crafted from biodegradable polymers designed to naturally reduce nitrate and phosphate levels in saltwater aquariums. This slow-release organic food source actively promotes the development of beneficial bacteria. These bacteria efficiently assimilate problematic nitrates and phosphates, and are subsequently harvested by protein skimmers, effectively exporting these nutrients from the water column. Beyond nutrient export, these bacteria also serve as a valuable food source for various filter-feeding invertebrates, including corals, clams, sponges, and feather dusters, contributing to a healthier reef ecosystem.

For optimal performance, NPX Bioplastics are best utilized in a fluidized reactor, such as the PhosBan Reactor 150 or 550. When integrating these pellets into a PhosBan Reactor, it is crucial to remove the existing sponges and replace them with specialized NPX screens. For 200 ml of NPX Bioplastics, the PhosBan Reactor 150 is recommended with a pump capacity of 300 to 350 GPH. If using 400 ml of the bioplastics, the PhosBan Reactor 550 is suitable, requiring a pump with 350 to 500 GPH capacity to ensure proper fluidization.

These nutrient reducing pellets are an excellent choice for reef aquarium hobbyists seeking a highly effective and natural method to maintain pristine water quality. By consistently lowering nitrate and phosphate, NPX Bioplastics help prevent nuisance algae outbreaks and foster a stable environment that promotes vibrant coral growth and the overall well-being of marine life. It is an essential component for any advanced reef system aiming for optimal nutrient control and a thriving, balanced ecosystem.
