Tropic Marin NP-Bacto-Balance is a precisely formulated mixture of selected organic and inorganic compounds designed to manage nutrient levels in saltwater reef aquariums. It works by promoting the incorporation of nitrate and phosphate into supplementary biomass, which can then be removed by protein skimming. This process effectively reduces nitrate and phosphate concentrations in the water, creating an ideal environment for corals, sponges, and other invertebrates that thrive in low-nutrient conditions.

The key to NP-Bacto-Balance is its carefully balanced composition which prevents a complete nutrient deficiency while improving the ratio between key compounds. By fueling beneficial bacteria, it enhances natural biological processes, leading to improved coloration and growth for corals and other filter feeders. Dosing is tailored to the maturity of the aquarium, with specific instructions for new, medium-aged, and mature tanks, allowing for a gradual and controlled adjustment of the aquarium's nutrient environment.

This product is best suited for dedicated reef aquarists who are actively managing their aquarium's chemistry to achieve ultra-low nutrient levels. It is particularly valuable for hobbyists with SPS-dominant tanks or those looking to maximize coral vibrancy and health. By providing a reliable method to control and balance nitrates and phosphates, it helps aquarists avoid the common pitfalls of nutrient fluctuations and achieve a stable, thriving reef ecosystem.
