Tropic Marin All-For-Reef Powder Mix is an ultra-concentrated, crystalline formula that allows you to easily mix a complete, all-in-one reef supplement at home. This single solution is designed to supply your saltwater aquarium with all essential minerals and trace elements, including calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium. It simplifies daily dosing by eliminating the need for multiple solutions or complex calcium reactors, providing a balanced supply of elements through natural biological processes to promote coral health and growth.
The highly concentrated powder mixes easily with RO/DI water to create a powerful solution without unwanted byproducts like sodium chloride, ensuring your tank's salinity and ionic balance remain stable. Each liter of mixed solution delivers an impressive 43,000 mg of calcium, 6,000 dKH of carbonate hardness, 1,900 mg of magnesium, and a full suite of essential trace elements found in Tropic Marin's A- and K- trace supplements. This comprehensive formula supports all aspects of coral skeletal growth and coloration without introducing excess carbon dioxide.
This product is ideal for reef aquarists seeking a more economical and convenient alternative to pre-mixed solutions or complicated multi-part dosing regimens. Whether you have a small nano reef or a large, demanding system, the All-For-Reef Powder Mix provides a simple, fuss-free method for maintaining optimal water chemistry. It is perfect for hobbyists who want the benefits of a complete supplement system without the hassle of managing multiple bottles, gas cylinders, or reactors.

Stir for a solid 2 mins and dissolves fully. Very easy to dose using dosing pump, removes a ton of hassle. Very stable. I feel very comfortable only testing alk and calcium 1x a week. Highly highly recommentd
Great products if you don’t want to dose 3+ products! Supply’s my coral with everything it needs to grow, look great, maintain a healthy skeleton! There are cheaper ways to do it, but this is probably the cheapest part of my addiction haha
It’s like name says best all I used this for years on some system . I would one month help increase mag by dosing a bit extra . also worked on bigger system I would add a little bit of cal and alk maybe once month too. This stuff is been good
All for Reef is based on Calcium acetate and there are two things you need to know. 1- Calcium acetate will not directly increase alkalinity. It needs to be metabolized and converted into carbonates and 2- will lower PH (the bacteria conversion of acetate like vinegar releases CO2 and consumes oxygen).
Started using All for reef powder mix on my waterbox 20 AIO, now 40 gallon breeder and will be on my waterbox 50.3. Great dosing option for smaller reef tanks, helped reduce parameter swings and seeing great growth from all my corals!
This is the easiest way of dosing Alk calc and trace elements. Having a magnetic stirrer makes it easier to mix but shaking it in a bottle also gets it to dissolve.
I used the liquid before but mixing the powder if so much more of a savings if you buy the 1600g. Just need a cheap magnetic stirrer, and if you want, you can weigh 160g with a scale. 6 level scoops was pretty accurate, however. I recommend buying a food grade 1 liter container and a beaker to put the stirring pill in. I spun for about 10 min and good to go. The only complaint with the powder is be careful with that lid. It does not thread to the container and thats an expensive mess if it spills- duct tape lid after each fill up.
Been using AFR for a while on my 140g reef tank and is a easy and simple way to keep your parameters stable. In combination with an Apex DOS dosing pump and making my own mix, I keep all my parameters stable. Also, I do a ICP MS water test every 3 month to see any unbalance on element and make my correction. I recommend buying the 1600g powder, get a magnetic stirrer and a kitchen scale to make your own juice. Using a warm RODI water makes the powder to disolve quicker.
I've been keeping marine specimens for 50 years now. And, All-For-Reef is the best additive I've ever had the pleasure of using. My system has never been as stable as it is now.
I have been using AFR for over two years and I have been very happy with it. Previously I used two part with magnesium. Even though I tried to place the alk line in a high flow area, there was precipitation under the line over time - something I don't see with AFR. I still need to replace the AFR dosing line every 9-12 months, but that is much less frequent than before. In my tank to achieve basic parameters, I have titrated up to the maximum recommended dose - trace elements by ICP seem fine at that dose. AFR is a bit hard to dissolve. An inexpensive magnetic stirrer does the trick. I do not find the suggestion of warming the water to be helpful in dissolving AFR.
I started using AFR about a month ago in my 28g. For the most part, it’s a good product. I’ve not yet switched my 175g over, I feel that I have more control over each using TM Balling and Trace A & K. AFR is good and has the trace elements included, my 28g is thriving.
I made the move to AFR in order to simplify my additives. Earlier this year I sent in a water sample for an ICP test which showed I was low on some trace elements. I started adding Tropic Marin A and K every other day manually to my 100 gallon mixed reef. In addition I was dosing 70 ml/day of ESV two part. Every 4th day I was manually adding 50ml of ESV magnesium to keep everything in balance. I realized that needed a better solution so that my vacation reef tender would be able to manage in my absence. On July 22 I started dosing AFR at 25ml/daily. I bumped it up to 50ml two days later based on testing. Over the next few weeks I had to supplement reef builder to keep the alkalinity level up to @8dkh and my ph dropped to 7.9 to 8.0 instead of the 8.2 to 8.3 I had gotten using ESV 2 part. Over the next few weeks my ph started to trend up and I was able to stop adding additional buffer the end of October, so roughly 2 months after starting on AFR. Today, my 2 dosing pumps are pushing 60ml of AFR and .5ml of Bacto Balance per day. All corals are happy and growing well but more importantly I can go on vacation with a clear conscience. All For Reef works well but you may need a lot of patience and testing.
So easy and cost effective to use. This is the best reef product I've come across in recent years. A electric mixer and Wi-Fi doser make it even easier! I only use 45 ml per day for my 120 gallon system.
Ive been wanting to pull the trigger on a calcium reactor for my Innovative marine 112 tank mixed reef. Unfortunately I have very limited knowledge on calcium reactor. I got tired of using 2 part for my system due buildup on my sump and cant get my dosing dialed in. My alk consumption is more than my calcium and i am worried that corals might not get the proper trace elements needed using brs balling method. After trying this all my parameters are much more stable without worrying about calcium and magnesium or trace Elements, My sps started coloring up again. Eventually i know i will need to go calcium reactor but for now this is pretty rock solid. Hope TM makes a bigger powder solution so we can get more savings. BRS hit them up to make a bigger version than the 1600g!
Works great on my tank. One part that does Alk, Calcium, and trace elements. Very simple and economical to mix and put this on a doser.
I dose AFR based on results of my Trident testing system. My SPS and clams are growing fast! I'm pleased. Just wish they would drop the price.
I have been using AFR for about a month now and all I can say is WOW!!! Corals that were looking kinda blah now pop with color!!! I will always use this product. I was actually told about AFR quite a long time ago from a shop owner. He said he had never seen a product color up corals so fast. I should have listened to him back then.
This product ran on a dosing pump has finally given me the stability I need without constant testing
I use a magnetic stirrer to stir it up. Other tip would be if you find yourself with higher than normal magnesium for this I also picked up a container of the carbo-calcium which is the same thing but with out the trace and magnesium. I fill up a 5l dosing container with about half and half right now.
I've tried using AFR now twice, thinking perhaps some other issues caused a near complete crash of my reef system. Corals were starting to look dull, some stuff didn't have as good of polyp extension and then quickly things started to STN/RTN and even some zoas started melting. Testing showed dkh had dropped off, however it also showed Ca above 500 and Mg above 1500. Confirmed via an ATI ICP test. I did a number of larger water changes within the following weeks and numbers returned back to normal. My dosing pump schedule was supposed to have been disabled and then after what I believe was a software update, it started dosing AFR again and it almost happened again. Very unhappy with the product. Not only did it nearly crash my system twice, reviewing the ICP results also showed it unable to maintain trace elements such as Molybdenum, Vanadium and Potassium all at very low levels.
This works so well, I replaced my calcium reactor due to PH issues. Corals are thriving now, all my SPS are coloring up and growing faster.
I have a 40 gallon full of mature corals that are absolutely loving All for Reef. A few tips though to make your life easier. First this stuff sticks to itself and it can be difficult to use the measuring cup. Get a digital kitchen scale that can do grams. Second it can be a pain to get this stuff to dissolve if you mix by hand. Get a cheap blender and save yourself the trouble.
Started dosing this stuff a couple weeks ago and let me tell you, the tank has never looked better! Corals are growing crazy fast and fully extended. All I can say is this stuff is magic!
I have a heavily stocked 120g that has been up and running for about 3 years now. I had a nice calcium reactor that the circulation pump was starting to get crazy loud so I gave this a try. My corals never skipped a beat and have been thriving 1 month in. I noticed some better colors in corals and all of my plating corals are on steroids now growing much faster. Im dosing 45ml per day on a completely packed 120g tank and purchased the large container which should last me about 5-6 months. I highly recommend this instead of 2 part or a calcium reactor and the price point is great for high demand tanks.
Great item, as usual, Marin products. Please keep it up and thank you. MY DKH started rising with no need to add any additional elements. Thank you.
excellent product, all in one, just one application and everything is kept to the point ... I have been using it for a month and until now I am with 5 ml per 100 liters, I do the tests and all the values remain perfect ..
So much better then the old system I love it
I have been using the solution for about a year now, I was mixing my own from the four separate components individually. And I must emphasize to everyone that is transitioning, this product is a slightly higher concentrate per volume. Based on my usage so far in my 250 gallon reef, it is roughly 20 to 30% more concentrated than the older four component solution you would mix. A very solid and complete reefing solution, I have thriving Soft, LPS, SPS, clams, and an array of crustacean. This will be the only dosing product I use in my reef. No other dosing system comes close!
Best product there is so far. Powder form makes it much more affordable now. Corals look better than ever and I don’t have to worry about keeping track of trace elements.
I just started using All For Reef. I am really excited about the "all in one" type dosing. I only have two negatives. One is that all the instructions are in grams and litres which can require some calculations. I came to find out after doing the conversion to oz. that it comes with a 6 gram measuring cup when i opened the container, but nowhere in the instructions did it say that. And two, it takes quite awhile to fully disolve the powder in preparation for dosing. Otherwise i am well pleased with the product!
I dose 20.5mL a day. If I did my math correctly for 1600g of AFR powder I get 10 Liters of dosing solution. (10,000mL). So making 1 Liter will costs me $6.48 to make. 1 Liter dosing at 20.mL per day gives me over 48.5 days! Breaks down to roughly 0.15 a day. My LFS charged me $34.99 for a 1000mL bottle of liquid AFR. To mix it myself @ .15 vs. $1.39 for them to pre mix? No brainer!!
Easy dosing, all parameters always on point.
