Tropic Marin Syn-Biotic Sea Salt Mix is a pharmaceutically pure sea salt formulated with a unique blend of probiotic bacteria and special prebiotic bacteria food. This innovative synbiotic combination works synergistically to promote the growth of beneficial bacteria, fostering low-nutrient conditions within the aquarium environment. It is designed to enhance the overall health and well-being of both fish and invertebrates.

I have been using this salt for 4 or 5 months. I first experienced the cloudiness, but it dissipates in short time. I now mix it a day in advance and do not have this issue. Corals, fish and inverts are doing well. My tank consistently runs 0 nitrate. The bacteria in the salt may or may not contribute to this? I also skim and have chaeto. I am going to start dosing nitrate. I will continue using this salt as i consider my current results successful.
There is research available which studied how probiotics prevent bleaching from stress events and pathogenic bacteria. I use synbiotic and also dose CarboCalcium and BactoBalance. I feed the 12 mo old tank heavily Coral Vitalizer and PhytoFeast for heavy nutrient input under MH lighting.
I’m new to saltwater or having an aquarium of any sort. I chose this salt for the listed benefits. Yes it mixes a little cloudy at first but it clears in a few hours. I really wish there was more testing and information done with the bio-actif and the syn-biotic salts. I can say my perimeters are stable, my fish and the few corals I’ve added are very happy. Please do a BRS investigates, I would like to see more info or possible benefits from the two salts.
This is the stuff of Legends people. Not even joking. Mixes easily and well. Came in a large, sealed bag inside of a convenient bucket. Also came with a cool ziptie so you could twist and curl the bag and then wrap around to keep it air tight. Instructions are easy to read and understand. Benefits are visual. There is some cloudiness once introduced but lessens with each water change. Wins best value. You can see the quality in the mix itself and the results are nothing less than spectacular. I recommend this and that's for sure.
Works as expected from the videos on brs explaining this in the videos. Results are better than brighwell salt as expected as the salt this salt is better suited to my tank.
It seams to work fine. Seams like it takes a long time for salt to dissolve.
This salt is great to help lower nitrates. I usually use the Tropic Marin Reef Pro salt, and large water changes would never drop my nitrates. Then I used this salt, and it help drop my nitrates by 10 after a few days after a water change. I think the person who gave this salt a bad review didn't read the description/purpose for this salt. Yes it mixes cloudy because of the added bacteria, but once its in your tank, it clears up very fast. Would recommend to those who have high nitrates or starting a new tank.
I've tried Tropic Marin Classic and Pro-Reef salts, both of which are great - however I bought the Syn-Biotic salt because BRS was out of the other two. I ended up going to a local fish store to buy another brand, because this salt mixed cloudy, stayed cloudy, and produced a film on the surface of the water. Waste of money and 35 gallons of good RO water, but lesson learned. I advise against the Syn-Biotic mix.
I use this and the other tropic marin salt mix. This is my go to for all my anemone tanks. It does mix cloudy-ish and some tint to it but once it goes into the tank it clears up.
