The Bashsea Skimmer Model 8-24 is a high-performance protein skimmer from the innovative Bashsea Twisted Skimmer series, engineered for unparalleled power and efficiency in saltwater aquariums. Utilizing Bashsea's patent-pending injection and mixing system alongside a full-body reaction chamber design, this unit significantly increases dwell time for air and water contact. This advanced design results in optimum nutrient removal, establishing it as one of the most powerful and efficient Beckett skimmers available on the market today. Manufactured by Bashsea, the Model 8-24 is designed for total water volumes, including tank, skimmer, and sump, up to 300 gallons. It requires a recommended pump with a flow rate of 1200-1500 GPH, for which a sponge pre-filter is highly advised to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Key operational guidelines include not reducing the 1-inch water inlet hose or drain size, regularly cleaning the Beckett injector, and ensuring all O-rings are free of debris for a proper seal. The water inlet features a factory-sealed threaded fitting, and any tampering will necessitate resealing with Teflon tape or silicone. This protein skimmer is an ideal choice for dedicated reef aquarists maintaining medium to large saltwater systems up to 300 gallons who prioritize exceptional water quality and nutrient export. Its robust design and efficient operation make it suitable for hobbyists seeking to reduce nitrates and phosphates, fostering a healthier environment for corals and fish. The Skimmer Model 8-24 provides a powerful solution for those committed to maintaining a pristine and thriving reef aquarium ecosystem.
