Seachem Matrix Carbon is a truly unique activated carbon specifically designed for saltwater reef aquariums. It comes in a distinctive spherical bead form, engineered for optimum hydrodynamics, ensuring it will not pack or impede water flow within your filtration system. This premium filter media works by permitting maximum water flow and contact with its high density of macroporous binding sites, effectively removing organic matter and pollutants to maintain crystal clear water.

A key feature of Matrix Carbon is its exceptionally low ash content, which is demonstrated by its minimal impact on pH; it does not raise pH above 7.0, even when added to distilled water. While all carbons contain some level of phosphate, Matrix Carbon boasts the lowest detectable leachable phosphate content among all major carbon brands tested. This superior formulation allows it to outperform other high-grade carbons by at least two-fold in terms of total capacity to remove aquarium organic matter, rate of adsorption, and overall duration of effective use.

This advanced activated carbon is ideal for serious reef aquarists and hobbyists who demand the highest quality chemical filtration for their marine environments. Its unique spherical design, combined with its long-lasting effectiveness and minimal impact on water parameters, makes it an excellent choice for maintaining pristine water clarity and a healthy, stable ecosystem. Choosing Seachem Matrix Carbon ensures a cleaner, healthier reef tank with less frequent media changes, providing peace of mind and more time to enjoy your aquarium.
