Seachem Matrix Carbon is a truly unique activated carbon filter media designed to efficiently remove organic matter and impurities from saltwater aquarium water. Its advanced formulation ensures crystal clear and healthy conditions, significantly enhancing water quality for all reef inhabitants by adsorbing undesirable compounds. This premium carbon helps maintain a stable and pristine aquatic environment, critical for the well-being of delicate corals and fish.

This activated carbon is meticulously formed as spherical beads, which promotes optimum hydrodynamics and prevents packing within the filter, allowing for maximum water flow and contact with its high density of macroporous binding sites. MatrixCarbon boasts a very low ash content, ensuring minimal impact on pH, and has the lowest detectable leachable phosphate content among all major carbon brands tested. It consistently outperforms other high-grade carbons by at least two-fold in total capacity to remove aquarium organic matter, rate of adsorption, and duration of use, with one liter effectively treating 400 gallons for several months.

Seachem Matrix Carbon is an ideal choice for reef aquarists seeking superior chemical filtration to maintain stable and exceptionally clean water parameters. Its efficiency, long-lasting performance, and minimal impact on water chemistry make it a cost-effective and reliable solution for hobbyists dedicated to water clarity and the reduction of harmful organic compounds. It can be conveniently utilized in a variety of filtration setups, including canister filters, chemical filtration modules, box filters, or any high-flow area of a trickle filter.
