The Salifert Calcium Test Kit is an essential tool for any saltwater reef aquarist, designed to accurately measure the calcium concentration in your aquarium water. Calcium is a vital element, serving as a primary building block for the skeletal material of hard corals, the needles of soft/leather corals, and calcareous algae. Maintaining optimal calcium levels is crucial, as concentrations that are too low can significantly hinder coral and algae growth, impacting the overall health and stability of your reef system.

This high-precision test kit is capable of resolving calcium content in fine 10 mg/L steps, allowing for the detection of small but highly significant fluctuations. Natural seawater (NSW) typically contains 400 – 450 mg/L calcium, which is the target range for a thriving reef tank. For a stable environment, calcium fluctuations should ideally not exceed approximately 15 mg/L. The Salifert kit features a sharp color change, facilitating easy and accurate readings, and is renowned for offering true accuracy and precision in its measurements.

This product is best suited for all reef aquarium keepers, from beginners to advanced hobbyists, who are committed to maintaining a stable and healthy environment for their corals and calcareous inhabitants. By regularly monitoring calcium levels with this reliable test kit, aquarists can proactively adjust their dosing regimens or water change schedules, ensuring their corals receive the critical calcium needed for robust growth and vibrant health, thereby preventing common issues associated with calcium deficiencies.
