The RO Sediment Depth Filter Cartridge 2.5" x 10" 1 Micron is a crucial component for any saltwater reef aquarium RO/DI system. Designed for high efficiency pre-filtration, this filter effectively removes particulate matter such as rust, sand, dirt, and silt from your incoming tap water supply. By doing so, it protects the more delicate carbon blocks and RO membranes downstream from premature clogging and damage, ensuring optimal performance and longevity of your water purification setup.

Crafted from high-efficiency polypropylene with a 1-micron filtration rating, this cartridge features a graded density construction that captures a wide range of particle sizes throughout its depth, maximizing its dirt-holding capacity. Its standard 2.5-inch by 10-inch dimensions ensure compatibility with virtually all standard 10-inch RO units, making it a reliable and economical choice for maintaining pristine water quality. Regular replacement is recommended when the filter appears visually dirty or when a noticeable drop in water pressure is observed, indicating it has reached its filtration capacity.

This sediment filter is essential for any serious reef aquarist relying on an RO/DI system to produce ultra-pure water for mixing saltwater, topping off evaporation, or preparing solutions. By consistently providing clean, sediment-free water to your subsequent filtration stages, it helps prevent the introduction of unwanted contaminants into your sensitive reef environment and supports the health and vibrancy of your corals and fish. Investing in quality pre-filtration ensures your RO/DI system operates at peak efficiency, saving you money on replacement membranes and media in the long run.
