The Skimz RK300PE Protein Fractionator Skimmer is a high-performance filtration device designed to efficiently remove dissolved organic waste from saltwater aquariums. Utilizing a sophisticated fractionation process, it injects air, and optionally ozone, into a reaction chamber to create a dense foam. As water flows cross-current to the rising air bubbles, organic compounds adhere to the air-water interface, forming concentrated foam that is then separated and exported from the system, significantly improving water quality. This robust skimmer features molded HDPE reaction chambers and a highly effective counter-current design for optimal foam production. Key components include tuned Mazzei Venturi pumps with Kynar Mazzei Venturi injectors, ensuring powerful and consistent air draw. It also boasts an ozone gas connection port, air flow meters for precise control, and a convenient screw top lid. High-quality construction is evident with Hayward or Asahi ball valves, MDM pumps made in the U.S.A., and Spears piping and fittings, also made in the U.S.A. An integrated wash-down system keeps surfaces clean, preventing foam inhibition, and an optional automated venturi cleaning system further simplifies maintenance. The Skimz RK300PE Protein Fractionator Skimmer is ideal for serious reef hobbyists, large display tanks, or commercial aquaculture operations demanding superior water clarity and pollutant removal. Its industrial-grade construction, advanced foam fractionation design, and emphasis on durable, high-quality components ensure reliable, long-term performance with minimal intervention. This unit is built for those who require precision filtration and uncompromising water quality in demanding marine environments.
