The Reef Octopus Regal 200SSS 8" Space Saving Protein Skimmer (VarioS) is a high-performance filtration device designed specifically for saltwater reef aquariums. This essential piece of equipment efficiently removes dissolved organic compounds, such as excess food, waste products, and detritus, before they can break down into harmful nitrates and phosphates. By actively skimming these pollutants from the water column, it plays a critical role in maintaining pristine water quality and a healthy, stable environment for corals and fish. Equipped with the advanced VarioS pump, this skimmer offers precise control over water flow and air intake, allowing hobbyists to fine-tune its performance for optimal skimming efficiency. Its innovative space-saving design, featuring an 8-inch body, makes it an ideal choice for sumps where footprint real estate is at a premium without compromising on its powerful waste removal capabilities. The robust construction and thoughtful engineering ensure reliable operation and longevity in demanding reef systems. This protein skimmer is perfectly suited for dedicated reef aquarists running medium to large-sized systems who demand exceptional water clarity and nutrient control. It is particularly beneficial for those with limited sump space who still require a high-capacity skimmer to support a densely stocked or nutrient-rich reef tank. Investing in the Regal 200SSS ensures a cleaner, more stable aquarium, promoting vibrant coral growth and the overall well-being of marine inhabitants.
