The Reef Octopus Varios 6 DC Water Pump is an advanced, variable speed direct current (DC) pump engineered for high-performance saltwater reef aquarium applications. It excels as a return pump, ensuring consistent and efficient water circulation between your sump and display tank, or for general water movement throughout the system. This modern DC pump provides significant advantages over traditional alternating current (AC) pumps, including superior energy efficiency, refined flow control, and safer operation at a lower voltage. Equipped with a detachable controller, the Varios 6 offers five energy-saving power settings and two convenient pause/feed modes, allowing you to shut off the pump for 15 or 60-minute intervals. Operating at a safe 36 volts, it features super quiet operation and a true slow startup, reducing wear on components and preventing sudden surges. This versatile pump can be utilized in both submersible and external setups, delivering a maximum flow of 1720 gallons per hour and a max head height of 16 feet while consuming up to 70 watts. It comes complete with an intake screen and plumbing attachments, though it is important to note this is not a pressure-rated pump suitable for high-pressure applications. The Reef Octopus Varios 6 is ideal for reef aquarists prioritizing precise control, energy efficiency, and reliable water movement for their aquarium systems. Its adjustable flow allows for fine-tuning to meet the specific demands of diverse setups, supporting optimal filtration and nutrient processing. The combination of quiet performance, safety features, and robust construction makes it an excellent choice for maintaining a stable and thriving reef environment, representing a valuable long-term investment for dedicated hobbyists.
