The Reef Octopus SRO XP-8000-I Protein Skimmer is a high-performance, in-sump cone skimmer engineered to efficiently remove organic waste from large saltwater reef aquarium systems. This essential piece of equipment creates a dense foam head to pull dissolved organics out of the water column, significantly improving water clarity and overall water quality for a thriving reef environment. It represents a new design in the popular Reef Octopus line, focusing on enhanced performance and ease of use for serious hobbyists.

Key features of this skimmer include its powerful Bubble Blaster pump, ensuring optimal air-to-water mixing for superior skimming. An integrated bubble plate works to reduce turbulence within the skimmer body, contributing to the formation of a stable and dense foam. The ultimate cone shape body, combined with extra-wide plumbing and necks, allows for increased airflow and a more stable reactor chamber. Precise control over skimmer adjustments is provided by a wedge pipe output, offering greater fine-tuning capabilities compared to traditional ball valves. Additionally, the quick-release neck on the collection cup requires only half an inch of clearance for effortless removal and maintenance.

This protein skimmer is ideally suited for advanced reef aquarists managing large, demanding systems who require robust and reliable filtration. Its innovative design and powerful performance make it an excellent choice for maintaining pristine water parameters, supporting sensitive corals and fish. The SRO XP-8000-I is a premium investment for those seeking a highly efficient and easily adjustable solution for comprehensive organic waste removal in their reef tank.
