The Reef Octopus Q8 Commercial Foam Fractionator is a highly efficient, commercial-grade protein skimmer designed to remove dissolved organic compounds and pollutants from large saltwater aquarium and aquaculture systems. Utilizing advanced foam fractionation technology, this robust unit effectively purifies seawater by creating a mass of microbubbles that attract and lift impurities into its waste collection cup, ensuring optimal water quality. This powerhouse skimmer boasts impressive specifications, including a substantial 50" x 60" footprint, a 44" body diameter, and an 85" height, requiring 750 watts of power. It is equipped with six high-performance Reef Octopus Bubble Blaster 10000s pinwheel pumps, engineered to inject a vast amount of microbubbles into its 40-inch diameter body, which holds approximately 250 gallons of water. The Q8 requires a significant feed flow of 9300 to 12000 GPH, with feed pumps not included. Key features also include a refined hybrid half-cone skimmer body for enhanced foamate stabilization, an oversized collection cup with a neck cleaner and drain, and built-in ozone injection ports for added safety and purification capabilities. The Reef Octopus Q8 is ideally suited for commercial saltwater systems ranging from 20,000 to 26,500 gallons, depending on the bioload. It excels in handling heavy bioloads in 20,000-gallon systems, medium bioloads in 24,500-gallon systems, and light bioloads in systems up to 26,500 gallons, excluding sump volume. Its exceptional efficiency and robust design make it an indispensable filtration solution for large-scale operations requiring superior water clarity and pollutant removal.
