The Reef Octopus Elite 220-INT is a high-performance in-sump protein skimmer designed to efficiently remove dissolved organic compounds from large saltwater aquarium systems. By creating a dense foam, it effectively extracts fish waste, uneaten food, and other pollutants before they can break down into harmful nitrates and phosphates. This process is crucial for maintaining pristine water quality, promoting coral health, and ensuring the clarity and stability of a mature reef environment.

This skimmer is engineered with premium features for maximum performance and user control. It is powered by a quiet and efficient, controllable VarioS-6S DC pinwheel pump that runs on safe 36V power. The unit features a turbulence-reducing super cone body constructed from solid cast acrylic and machined PVC for durability. For ease of use, it includes a vented output valve with a precision adjustment dial, a simple “Twist & Lift” collection cup, and a design that fully disassembles for maintenance. The advanced controller offers five power settings, two feed modes (15 or 60 minutes), a safety float switch to prevent overflows, and a 0-10v input for seamless integration with third-party aquarium controllers.

The Reef Octopus Elite 220-INT is ideal for the dedicated aquarist managing a large, heavily stocked marine aquarium. With a bioload handling capacity rated for up to 300 gallons for heavy systems, 400 gallons for medium, and 530 gallons for lightly stocked tanks, it provides robust filtration for demanding reef setups. Its combination of powerful performance, fine-tunable control, and high-quality construction makes it a superior choice for hobbyists seeking to maintain optimal water parameters and achieve a thriving, professional-grade reef display.
