Reef BioFuel by Brightwell Aquatics is a specialized liquid supplement formulated to enhance the biological processes within saltwater reef aquariums. It provides a source of bioavailable carbon, essential for stimulating the growth and activity of beneficial bacteria that naturally break down nitrates and phosphates, thereby improving overall water quality and clarity. This product is designed to support a robust microbial ecosystem, which is crucial for nutrient cycling and maintaining a healthy environment for corals and other invertebrates. This advanced formula actively promotes the reduction of undesirable nutrients, contributing to a cleaner and more stable reef system. By fueling the natural denitrification and phosphate reduction pathways, Reef BioFuel helps to prevent common issues associated with elevated nutrient levels, such as nuisance algae growth. Its carefully balanced composition ensures that it can be safely integrated into established reef aquariums, supporting both the microbial community and the health of corals without introducing harmful byproducts. Reef BioFuel is ideal for reef aquarists seeking to optimize water parameters, reduce nitrate and phosphate levels, and foster a thriving ecosystem. It is particularly beneficial for tanks experiencing persistent nutrient issues, or for those who wish to enhance coral coloration and growth through improved water quality. This supplement offers a straightforward method for maintaining a pristine reef environment, making it a valuable addition for both novice and experienced hobbyists committed to the long-term health of their aquatic inhabitants.

This is where my issues began. I assumed I needed 0 phos/nitr and I dosed a brand new tank. By brand new I mean 2 weeks. I've been going through hell since. This stuff works. Just know this is a warning do not dose till tank is established. Wc wc wc is better. I caused my Dino issues from the beginning then like a dumb dumb rocketed everything now I am battling the remnants of gha and cyano. Useful but be extremely careful
The label tells of some miraculous nitrate and phosphate eliminating bacteria inside. Though somehow this bacteria needs to be dosed weekly and often daily to maintain working levels. Simply, no. It's glucose, another form of carbon dosing. A poor substitute for vodka or vinegar.
Love this product no bad results works like advertised dont listen to above reviews this product needs to be used as directed and water tests done daily you need to cut back the dose with no nitrates follow directions and you cant go wrong
I was going threw hell for month straight nitrates was high now there zero I use this with no3pox by red sea and I have bio pellets to for first time in 2 years work great if u use this and red sea nopox it will still work with out having bio pellets I have lava rock to from home depot in my tank to
Used it as instructed and killed 80% of my corals. It sucked all my nutrients out of the water. unbalance my system and really didn't lower my nitrates.
Tried this but after a few weeks didn't see much change. Stick to frequent water changes, fastest and safest way to lower nitrates.
