It’s working amazing I love
I hate this skimmer. Granted, this is my first full sized skimmer as I had an AIO tank and nano sized skimmer before this. But this skimmer never performs consistently well. Always overflows, even with the skimmer regulator upgrade. When it’s not overflowing, it’s under-skimming and not producing any skimmate. On top of that, I have this in a Red Sea Reefer 250. And while it “fits,” it’s so over-sized that it precludes the use of any other filtration. I’d say skip it and spend a few bucks on something else. The reef beat integration simply is not worth it
My tank has been up for 2 months but just started skimming last week. I had some difficulty getting the probe to calibrate. After contacting customer service it was a firmware update needed. After the update probe calibrated in under a minute. Without the probe calibrated the skimmate was always wet and would often overfill the cup. This could all be from the break in period. The set up and connection to the app was really easy. It’s awesome I’ve never had a skimmer cup with a waste tube so you’re not constantly pulling the cup off to dump. If the probe actually does as claims this will be the best skimmer I’ve used. As the tank matures and bio load increases I will update the review. I’ve bought mainly Red Sea products on this tank and love them all.
