The skimmer is a work horse. I have this on my medium stocked mixed reef and it pulls out a ton of stuff. There are two drawbacks that I have come across. 1) taking the skimmer cup off is a nightmare. It is so big, that it's difficult to get a good grip on it and it sticks. 2) finding replacement parts can be very difficult to locate in the US. I had to order mine from Europe. It can be worth the extra money to replace parts since the skimmer is pricey. Would I buy it again, yes!
This Skimmer is a beast. There is a fairly significant initial break in period however once she gets going it is super stable and easy to clean and maintain. Running this on a RedSea 850s.
Absolute worst skimmer I’ve ever. It took almost a month to break in and still released micro bubbles all over the tank. The quality built acrylic they advertised is half the thickness as skimmers half the piece. It feels very cheap. Within a year several parts including the pump have broke. No place in the us sells parts for it but ecotech.
