Purit Chemical Filtration Media is a cutting-edge blend of enhanced activated carbon and NSF-grade ion-exchange and adsorptive resins, engineered to deliver superior chemical filtration in both saltwater and freshwater aquariums. This powerful combination works diligently to remove a broad spectrum of impurities, including ammonia, nitrate, phosphate, silicate, heavy metals, and dissolved organic material, ensuring pristine water quality and a healthier aquatic environment.
This advanced media facilitates crucial decomposition and oxidation/reduction reactions, significantly boosting the oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) and overall water quality. It excels at improving water clarity by eliminating unsightly dyes and organic discoloration, while also eradicating unpleasant odors stemming from decaying organic matter. Purit is also highly effective at removing copper from medicated systems, along with lead and other heavy metals, all while being completely reef safe. Available in convenient sizes ranging from 250 mL to 20 Liters, with 100 mL capable of maintaining 25 US-gallons for up to six months, depending on bioload.
Purit Chemical Filtration Media is an essential addition for any aquarist seeking to maintain exceptionally clean and clear water in their saltwater or freshwater system. It is particularly beneficial for tanks experiencing issues with organic pollutants, persistent odors, discoloration, or elevated levels of undesirable compounds like nitrates and phosphates. Ideal for both new setups and established aquariums, this media provides robust, long-lasting chemical filtration, promoting a vibrant, healthy, and stable aquatic ecosystem for all inhabitants.

This media is not really for my set up ROWAphos needs replacing every few days for me. Generally, phosphates will test at 0.12 +/- 0.05 —>i put ~60g rowaphos in—>72hrs later phosphates go down to 0.03-0.05 3 days after putting this in at a phosphate level of 0.15 my phosphate level is at .25 Anyways, this is probably good for a nano aquarium not a heavily stocked 100gal mixed reef with very hungry inhabitants. I mean, they look hungry. Ok I feed a lot.
Couple days after adding to my filter cup in my sump the water clarity was supper clear. I'm not sure if it took all the bad stuff out my water or not like it states it does but I do have super clear water.
i guess im use to the rox 0.8 carbon. with this carbon i used roughly 10-15 gallons of water to rinse. rox only takes about a 1 or 2 gallons of water so i usually just use my aquarium water to do that. big mistake to rinse purit that way. the purit stained all my sponges in my filter housings black and has a lot of fine particles. i have no complaints on how it works. works just about the same as rox 0.8. ill choose rox over purit any day just for the ease of use for rox.
Within one day of adding this to my filtration there was an incredible difference in water clarity.
