Phosphate Minus is an advanced filtration medium specifically formulated for marine aquariums. It efficiently targets and reduces elevated phosphate and silicate levels, which are common culprits behind nuisance algae and cyanobacteria outbreaks. By actively adsorbing these unwanted compounds, it helps maintain the delicate biological balance essential for a thriving reef environment. This potent phosphate remover is designed for optimal performance when placed in media reactors, requiring a suggested water flow of at least 400 l/hr, though it can also be used passively in filter socks. It is crucial not to rinse Phosphate Minus before use, as the harmless brown dust is integral to its active removal properties, and rinsing would diminish its effectiveness. Available in convenient 1000 mL and 5000 mL sizes, it should be dosed at 25-100 ml per 100 liters (27 US gal) of water and replaced every four weeks or when phosphate levels significantly rise. Phosphate Minus is an invaluable tool for both newly established and mature saltwater aquariums. In new setups, it acts preventatively, curbing the initial rise of phosphates, while in existing tanks, it actively lowers stubborn PO4 levels and stabilizes overall water chemistry. This makes it an ideal choice for reef keepers dedicated to preventing and resolving nutrient imbalances, fostering crystal-clear water, and supporting vibrant coral health.

I only trust my tanks to high-quality products. Because my system and my marine life deserve the best.
Works great! Brought my PO4 from 0.15 to 0.03 in hours. All I did was placed a small media bag near the return pump.
I bought this looking for a less expensive alternative. But you get what you pay for. This GFO works, don’t get me wrong. However the particle sizes are terribly inconsistent, there are large gravel size pieces all stuck together at the bottom of my reactor. They are too big to tumble so they just clump. There are medium size pieces similar to BRS brand tumbling a bit mid reactor. Then there are ultra fine particles that are constantly clogging the reactor lid. I never had this problem using BRS GFO. I would send the AF back if I could.
Had an off brand GFO before that couldn't get my phosphates below 0.20. This stuff knocked it down to 0.05 in just a few hours using a two little fishes reactor.
As a warning, the grain size is smaller than BRS's media bags. You can double or triple bag this GFO, but more than half of it will escape. You'll need a reactor that can handle fine grains. Sadly, it easily escapes through the foam on my reactor and a media bag is of limited use. If you have the right reactor, the price seems good.
Well, i used this for about 5 weeks, and bye bye HA. I decided to give this brand a chance and it has performed well. It takes time. Total system volume 95 gallon, 23 tablespoons in an Avast reactor. I also carbon dose a Zeo hybrid. Tried many types of GFO with minimal results. This or Two little fishies have done well under my tank specs. Will buy again.
Got a bunch of this stuff instead of Rowa as it was alot cheaper and was told it was even better. Dont think its any better but it looks the same and works the same so i will be switching over to aqua forest due to the price and performance ratio
