Maintenance is simplified by an easily detachable collection cup and skimmer body, ensuring quick cleaning without full removal. It includes an in-line pump controller and power supply. This protein skimmer is best suited for saltwater aquarists with tanks ranging from 20 to 50 gallons, depending on bioload, specifically targeting those with light (up to 50 gallons), medium (up to 35 gallons), or heavy (up to 20 gallons) bioloads. Its adjustable features and compact design make it an excellent choice for hobbyists seeking reliable, high-performance filtration in smaller setups, ensuring a healthy and stable environment for their delicate reef inhabitants. Having used this skimmer for a few months I find it to a decent skimmer. i have very little room between the sump to base of the aquarium so this little but mighty dude did the trick due to space. My sump walls to water line is to tall so I have to stand it up and lean it upright in the corner I wish there was an extension that could be used for hanging. I have been only able to produce wet skim, I prefer more of a dry skim I’m sure more fine tuning is needed. The motor noise can be very loud but it’s in a different room so it’s not a bother. I have trouble removing the collection cup without dislodging the bases and end up having to pull the whole chamber out but again with time and ware the band will become wore and easier to remove.
Was missing the air blocking sponge and the hole on the bottom was not straight. The skimmer will not stand without support because of this. The design also does not make much sense. The pump is held in with a friction fit, but it hangs from the bottom. Motor will fall off when you are messing with it. Besides that, its not bad. I think this skimmer has a nice aesthetic and it is pretty quite. The adjustable water height and dc pump speed adjust is much appreciated. Considering the price and the dc pump it really is pretty good, but no sponge and poor pump attachment is annoying.
