The Maxspect JUMP SK800 Protein Skimmer is an advanced and powerful filtration device designed for saltwater reef aquariums. It efficiently removes organic waste compounds from the water column before they break down into harmful nitrates and phosphates, ensuring pristine water quality and a healthy environment for marine inhabitants. This essential equipment utilizes a sophisticated air-water mixing process to create a dense foam, collecting dissolved proteins and other organic pollutants into its collection cup.
This skimmer boasts a patented dual needle wheel design driven by a Duo Turbine 12K DC pump, providing exceptional air intake and inner water flow for superior skimming performance. It features an intuitive Maxspect JUMP controller with smart functions like feeding mode, overflow protection, and a start delay for optimized operation and safety. With a compact footprint of 270x250mm and a height of 600mm, it's suitable for sumps with water depths between 19-24cm. It handles high bioloads in tanks up to 900L (237Gal) and low bioloads up to 2,700L (713Gal), with an air intake of 800LPH (211GPH) and inner waterflow of 1,800LPH (475GPH) at 50 watts. Its innovative design also emphasizes ease of maintenance.
The Maxspect JUMP SK800 Protein Skimmer is ideal for serious reef aquarists seeking a high-performance, reliable, and intelligently controlled skimmer for medium to large-sized marine aquariums. Its robust waste processing capabilities, combined with smart features and user-friendly maintenance, make it an excellent choice for maintaining optimal water parameters in systems with diverse bioloads. This skimmer is particularly well-suited for those who value efficiency, advanced control, and a clean, streamlined aesthetic in their sump setup, ensuring a thriving reef ecosystem.

This was the most expensive mistake I have made in my hobby lifetime. I'm 65 yrs and have been in the hobby for 55 yrs. this thing fails after about a month of runtime. The magnet on the turbine pump grinds a groove in itself and wrecks. Poor design. Can't believe they are still selling these. My $700.00 down the drain.
It was working great for 2 months , every month I would clean it out it would be issue trying jump start it , now I’m four months in and it won’t start at all
I bought this skimmer because the BRS videos made it sound like a great skimmer with no issues. The skimmer, when working, does everything they promise , but the rando shut-offs make it very frustrating unless you just enjoy checking it a couple times per day and power cycling the unit. Although, I have found that if I "shake" the over-flow sensor that pump will sometimes turn back on. Maxspect should look into this as a possible issue for the random shut-offs.
I really think Max jet protein skimmers needs to come up with a better design on that knob to adjust the height inside of the protein skimmer I have replaced that knob height adjuster four times already very disappointed with the product for the amount of money I paid for it
Bulk Reef Supply (BRS) deserves recognition for their prompt replacement policy, but unfortunately, the issues with this skimmer persist. Initially purchased to replace a noisy reef octopus, this skimmer seemed promising with its quiet operation. However, the recurring problem of sudden shutdowns, despite the replacement unit, leaves me concerned and frustrated. Operating it at a reasonable 60% in 9 inches of water, the quiet performance is indeed a relief in my office setup. Yet, the unreliability persists, necessitating frequent checks and resets by unplugging and replugging it. The inconvenience of constantly monitoring a supposedly efficient product is disappointing. Regrettably, I cannot afford to have equipment in my system that's so unreliable. Despite the significant investment, the recurring malfunction makes it difficult to trust this product. For its price point, I anticipated a reliable solution, but this skimmer has fallen short of expectations. In conclusion, while the skimmer's quiet operation is commendable, the persistent issues and lack of reliability undermine its utility in a reef system. The recurring shutdowns have made it clear that this product fails to meet the necessary standards, despite its promising attributes.
One of the best skimmer on the market. This skimmer is indeed very efficient and quiet. I have this running for two days and am very impress with it's performance thus far.
