Description

Matrix 20L is a high-porosity biomedia designed to provide efficient biofiltration for saltwater aquariums by removing nitrogenous waste such as ammonia and nitrite, while also facilitating the removal of nitrate. This porous inorganic media has a diameter of approximately 10 mm and offers an extensive surface area of over 700 square meters per liter, significantly more than plastic alternatives which only provide external surface area. Matrix™ supports both nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria within its macroporous structure, ensuring effective biological filtration without the need for regular replacement or rinsing that could harm internal bacterial colonies.
