Description
Kolar Filtration DI Resin is a premium mixed-bed deionization resin specifically formulated for saltwater aquarium applications. This high-performance filter media effectively reduces total dissolved solids (TDS) in water to zero, providing the ultra-pure water essential for sensitive reef inhabitants and preventing undesirable algae growth. It functions as an ion exchange resin, purifying water by efficiently removing impurities.
This product features Lanxess Lewatit NM-65 DI Resin, a high-capacity, color-indicating mixed ion exchange resin known for its quality. It is a premium grade, gel-type resin prepared with a 1:1 chemically equivalent ratio of cation to anion resin. Each 600g (1.1 lbs) package comes vacuum-sealed in Mylar bags, ensuring guaranteed freshness and quality upon arrival, and is designed to efficiently fill one standard 10-inch refillable cartridge.
This DI resin is ideal for reef aquarists and anyone needing ultra-pure, zero TDS water for their aquatic systems. It is best utilized as the final stage after a Reverse Osmosis (RO) system to polish the water, ensuring optimal conditions for marine life. For best efficiency, it is recommended to monitor TDS levels and the resin's color change, and to pre-filter with catalytic carbon if chloramines are present in your source water.
