The Jumbo CO2 Scrubber is an external reactor designed to remove excess carbon dioxide from the air entering your protein skimmer, directly addressing a primary cause of low pH in saltwater aquariums. By purifying the air before it mixes with your tank water, this device effectively raises and stabilizes pH levels, creating a more suitable environment for coral growth and overall reef health. It easily connects to your protein skimmer's air intake to begin improving your water chemistry almost immediately.
This large-capacity scrubber features a refillable media cartridge and includes 3/8" tubing for a straightforward connection to your protein skimmer's venturi air intake. While it requires CO2 absorbent media which is sold separately, its jumbo size allows for a significant volume of media, reducing the frequency of replacements. Under typical conditions with elevated ambient CO2, users can see a significant pH increase, often from a low of 7.8 to a more stable 8.3 within just a few days. The unit is designed for saltwater aquariums and comes with a 1-year warranty.
This product is ideal for reef aquarists who struggle with persistently low pH levels that cannot be resolved through other means. It is particularly beneficial for hobbyists whose tanks are in well-sealed homes, offices, or rooms with high occupancy, where ambient CO2 levels are naturally elevated. If you've tried everything to raise your pH and want to provide the best possible conditions for your corals to thrive, a CO2 scrubber is a highly effective and targeted solution.

This is truly the jumbo unit. Great capacity obviously but it's also really well made. I bet you could chuck it across the room without damaging it.
As Carlos mentioned, the optional legs are not trivial to deal with. But I've found that I can remove one of the 4 legs for pretty easy access when replacing the media. I don't have to remove the legs when draining the collected water. I just place a small bowl under the cap to collect the water while removing the cap. I may try to bypass the legs and mount it on the wall, or something. But I really don't find it too big of a deal to remove one leg when using the optional legs. I'm using a CO2 scrubber recirculating skimmer setup (see the BRS videos). The pH jump is almost instantaneous! You'll for sure notice it the first day. (Neptune APEX logs make this super easy to see.) Similarly, when the media expires, you notice the drop pretty much the first day in your pH measurements. For sure by day 2, it is a quick event when the media is exhausted. (Again, Neptune APEX logs make this super easy to see.) Fun fact 1: I have to drain the collected water at least weekly, but twice a week is better. Fun fact 2: My media lasts 5 weeks, give or take a couple of days, using the BRS CO2 Absorbent Media, SKU: 211841. Fun fact 3: That same SKU 211841 gives me 3 media changes with just a little leftover. Call it 3 media changes per 7.5 lbs bag. Fun fact 4: In a 12-year-old fairly closed home with pets (i.e. CO2 builds up in the home), I see about a 0.25 pH jump, day and night, using this setup. All in all, an amazing jump in pH, highly recommend.
Carlos mentioned about the legs but there are longer 20 inch legs available which makes it easier to remove the sumps.
The quality of the header and the filter is the best I’ve seen. It’s made in Italy and you can tell. It’s hard to find good quality like this these days. I’ll look into other products from this company ATLAS FILTRI.
I've been using CO2 scrubbing for close to two years now. I have the standard canister and it needs refills every month or so. I thought this jumbo would make life easier. Yes it holds much more media and will last much longer between refills. The optional legs are my gripe....good idea but not thought through. The legs are too narrow making it impossible to remove the canister to empty and refill without lifting the leg assembly completely up and off. This is cumbersome enough but when reattaching the newly filled canister it gets even more difficult. There is a valve on the bottom which prevents it from sitting flush on the ground so with one had you need to stabilize it and with the other lift the upper part with legs up and over the canister. I can recommend the scrubber but save your money on the legs....not worth the headache.
