The Hanna HI781 Marine Nitrate Low Range Colorimeter is an essential tool for accurately monitoring nitrate levels in saltwater aquariums and various marine applications. This handheld colorimeter eliminates the guesswork associated with traditional chemical test kits by providing a precise digital readout, ensuring you can confidently manage your reef environment. Nitrate, a crucial byproduct of the nitrogen cycle, must be maintained within specific ranges; excessive amounts can fuel undesirable algae and dinoflagellate blooms, while insufficient levels can lead to coral starvation and paleness, particularly in SPS corals.

Designed specifically for saltwater samples, the HI781 offers a measurement range of 0.00 to 5.00 ppm (as NO3–), with an approved dilution procedure extending the measurable range up to 50.0 ppm. Key features include a built-in timer to ensure proper reaction times, dedicated measurement for a single parameter for focused accuracy, and a compact, convenient size for easy use anywhere. This device leverages the Beer-Lambert principle to colorimetrically determine nitrate concentration, providing results significantly more accurate than standard chemical test kits.

This product is ideal for reef aquarium hobbyists, marine enthusiasts, and aquaculture professionals who require precise and reliable low-range nitrate measurements to maintain optimal water quality and coral health. By providing an easy-to-use, accurate, and cost-effective method for nitrate testing, the HI781 empowers users to proactively address potential issues, prevent nuisance algae, and ensure their corals thrive without the visual interpretation errors common with less advanced test methods.
