This drawstring filter sock provides essential mechanical filtration for saltwater reef aquariums by capturing suspended debris before it enters the sump system. Made from thick polyester floss material, it effectively traps small floating particles such as dust, excess food, detritus, and organic waste to ensure crystal clear water quality.

Designed with a precise 100 micron rating, this sock fits standard plumbing setups using its integrated drawstring for secure attachment. The dimensions measure approximately seven inches by sixteen inches, offering ample surface area to handle biological load without restricting flow too quickly while preventing larger objects like sand or small invertebrates from damaging expensive pump motors.

Reef hobbyists seeking to minimize maintenance and protect their equipment will find this filter sock ideal for routine sump protection. Regular rotation of these socks reduces the accumulation of ammonia and nitrate producing waste, resulting in a healthier environment for corals and fish while significantly lowering the frequency required for deep sump cleaning sessions.
