Brightwell Aquatics CoralAmino Free Form Amino Acid Supplement provides a complex of essential free-form amino acids, formulated in the same ratios found within the tissues of stony corals. This potent supplement is designed to benefit all types of corals, including both stony and soft varieties, as well as solitary and colonial polyps, by supplying the crucial building blocks needed for healthy growth and vitality in a reef aquarium environment.
Based on extensive data compiled by oceanographers researching natural coral tissue profiles, CoralAmino encourages the formation of new tissue, aids in repairing damage incurred during fragmentation and propagation, and promotes growth through budding and fission. This liquid food type is ideal for filter feeders, supporting vibrant coloration and overall coral health, and conveniently does not require refrigeration under normal use.
This product is an excellent choice for any saltwater aquarist dedicated to optimizing the health, growth, and aesthetic appeal of their corals. Whether you are propagating new frags, helping damaged corals recover, or simply aiming to enhance the natural beauty and robust development of your existing coral colonies, CoralAmino offers a targeted nutritional solution to achieve a thriving and colorful reef tank.

Great product for two reasons: (1) works as described, and (2) does not require refrigeration.
This stuff is GREAT. Corals love it and really helps fresh cut frags and sick corals recover. Do use with care, if you have any kind of alagae problem going on this will cause it to blow up.
I am always a little cautious about these things because I feel like some are just snake oils and don't actually do anything but let me tell you this stuff actually does work I noticed polyp extension and just very happy corals after starting to use this along side feeding my corals. They love it.
my corals love this but be careful over dosing could lead to elevated nutrients.
I was hesitant at first and thinking the same as another reviewer that this product seemed like snake oil. Turns out, it save my interest in the hobby! At the time I had a 133g Reefer setup with fish and mixed coral for about 10 months. I know this is still a young tank, but boy was it discouraging to see the coral growth/color so stagnant despite what felt like the effort of a second full-time job. Needless to say using this product as instructed on the packaging resulted in near immediate color enhancement and noticeable growth in just a single week. (Have been using for 2 months now) I suppose if a shortage of aminos is not your issue then this product is not the answer. For me, I didn't know what I was doing wrong and was willing to give this an honest try. I'm glad I did!
My corals like this
I have noticed a small amount of difference in overall coral health and polyp extensions in some corals.
I'm not for snake oils, but tried this after seeing the recommendation from BRS and WWC as a way to help stressed or struggling corals. Well, if this is a snake oil, sign me up! I started adding two droppers (~3-4 ml) to my 90 gal, then began spot feeding the two droppers mixed in some water to a failing Trachyphilia that was releasing from its skeleton. After 6 weeks, it's back to 100% and looking better than ever. Other SPS and LPS in my tank are thriving like never before. I haven't tried other Amino Acid Supplements, so I can't compare one to another, but this works for me.
I have been dosing 6 drops every 2 days to my 20g frag system for around 4 months. Polyp extension, growth, and color have dramatically improved. I went out of town for a week and left my wife in charge, she didn't add amino all week. I came home to shorter polyp extension and knew right away. Started back dosing and the corals perked back up after a few days. Brightwell aminos is a great product that I will always use on my systems.
I have had really good luck dosing Brightwell Amino. I have noticed better polyp extension and better color.
Started with just 5 drops a day in a total 80 gallon. Still at 5 a day. Tank has popping color. From what I can notice in my system is that my corals look fuller in flesh growth and thicker.
If your corals are starving and are lacking color, any amino supplement will help. They need food. Feeding them anything will give you solid results. There is no denying that. But, the real question is... how much growth and color do you want, and how much do you want to spend for it? Is one product better than the other? How do you maximize potential while minimizing cost? This product is not it for me. I dosed 2ml per 50g of water and saw no results with this product over a months time. 2ml per 50g is double their recommend level. These were dosed upstream from corals who directly got hit by the current carrying this amino. Now to be fair, I was using a different amino acid supplement before this, at the recommend dosing amounts (NOT MORE). I took a month away from my regular amino to try this because of all the hype; however, I actually lost significant color on acan and acro colonies. I did the math and Brightwell's amino is about the same price as using Red Sea's Reef Energy A AND B per recommend dosing amount at 2ml per 25g. I just got WAY better results with RS and would recommend their Reef Energy. Also, Brightwell's product is clear. If it is REALLY concentrated I have a hard time believing it will result in a clear liquid. Maybe I'm just being critical.
Been using Coral Aminos for a couple of years (heard about it from WWC) since using it coral growth exploded. TIP: add 5 - 10ml to your ATO weekly. Benefit of slow dose doesn't cause skimmer to go crazy.
I've been using this product for awhile now, it is very simple to use and takes seconds to dose the tank.
