The MRC Commercial Protein Skimmer is an industrial-grade water filtration device designed to meet the demanding needs of large-scale saltwater aquarium systems. Engineered by MRC America, this unit excels at removing dissolved organic compounds, proteins, and other waste materials from the water column through a highly efficient foam fractionation process. This essential piece of life support equipment is critical for maintaining pristine water quality, promoting livestock health, and ensuring water clarity in high-bioload environments.

Built for performance and durability, this commercial skimmer series is available in several models to accommodate systems ranging from 3,000 to 5,000 gallons. Each model shares a compact 20" x 12" footprint, features four powerful injectors with 1 1/2" SOC inputs, and utilizes a 2" threaded gate valve for precise water level control and skimmate production. With total height options of 48", 60", 72", and 96", there is a configuration to fit various sump room constraints. A powerful external pump, such as the recommended MRC MP6100 or HP8500, is required for operation and must be purchased separately.

This protein skimmer is the ideal solution for public aquariums, aquaculture facilities, coral farming operations, and retail fish stores. It is also perfectly suited for advanced hobbyists with exceptionally large home reef or fish-only systems. The robust construction and high-efficiency design provide the reliable, large-scale filtration necessary to manage the significant biological loads produced in these demanding aquatic environments, ensuring system stability and the health of its inhabitants.
