Hopped on here to agree with Mike. Mine failed in about 6 weeks, googled that 12 VDC adapter got the first one on amazon and light seems to be working again. Grows my chaeto well and super simple to use for a small system, gets the job done just might need to spend an extra $15 to get a better adapter.
I bought this light about a year and a half ago. When it stopped working, I contacted the company and got a quick response from the owner at Reefbreeders, Logan. He diagnosed a faulty power source, and mailed a new one to me right away. Also, when I first bought the light, I had questions. Again, Logan responded to my email within a day. This company offers outstanding customer service, and I highly recommend them.
Does a good job growing fuge algae for small systems. Beware of the undersized power adapter. I have had two fail within one year of use. First time, I thought the light had failed so I purchased an entirely new unit. Found that the original light worked fine with the new adapter, so I decided it would work as a backup. Now the second adapter has failed within a year. Tried an after-market 12 VDC adapter and got it going again.
