This rail for my hydra edge 44 is great. Serves the purpose perfectly and I was able to mount my brackets exactly where I wanted them.
Wire cover clips work if you know how to place the wire in the groove of the rail. Some have no idea how to do it, just complain. I had the 1st rail/ mounting system where there was no way to hold & hide the wires; had to used zip ties. At least this time they provided wire clips. Forget the negative comments.
Nice rail that's very heavy duty. I have 2 coral care gen 2's on a 48" rail and there's no noticeable flex at all.
It would be nice if this was a little thinner but not sure if that would diminish the support it provides which is a top priority. I have two prime HD on this at the moment and noticed the power cords did not fit tightly in the track which is interesting as they are the same generation as the Hydra 26's. I will be installing two hydra 32's on this relatively soon and will update once that is completed.
I bought this mount to go with 2 Hydra 26s and absolutely loved it. The biggest selling point was that it hid my cords to the lights. I bought 2 Hydra 32s to go with the 26s and they mount up great but the cords won't fit in the track like the 26s. Now I have a $100+ mount for $1500 in lights and I have the power cords zip tied across the top of the bar. So disappointed in AI. This was a huge miss in my opinion.
To add onto my review of the mounting kit. You'll need these to hang the lights over your tank. Its built really well and looks sharp. See review below of the full mounting kit. Absolutely love this setup. I have a 5 foot 105-gallon tank with a Ghost Overflow. I wasn't able to use the ARM mounts AI offers due to the ghost overflow. They look great a friend of mine uses them. So I went with this option. I was a little skeptical but when I got the kit it looked great. I setup the brackets and lights and dang this thing looks super sharp. I have three LED's over my tank. You are able to hide all the cords inside the arms or the light mount. Everything looks cordless. Totally worth the cost and build really really well. BRS package this really nice came with no scratches and shipping was really fast! Thanks BRS.
