This is a 10-foot K-Link cable with a 90-degree connector specifically designed for Kessil aquarium lights. It allows users to connect multiple Kessil X-Series lights together, forming a synchronized network. This cable facilitates seamless communication between the fixtures, enabling master/slave control and uniform light programming across your entire reef system.
The 90-degree bend in the connector is a crucial feature, providing a cleaner, less obtrusive connection for installations where space is tight or aesthetics are paramount. Its 10-foot length offers significant flexibility in positioning your Kessil lights and controller, accommodating various tank setups and cabinet configurations. This durable cable ensures reliable data transmission for consistent performance of your Kessil lighting system.
This cable is ideal for reef aquarists utilizing multiple Kessil X-Series lights who desire a neat, integrated setup and centralized control. It's particularly beneficial for those with larger tanks requiring several fixtures or hobbyists who prioritize a clean cable management system. By enabling synchronized operation, it simplifies programming and ensures optimal, consistent lighting for coral growth and fish coloration throughout the aquarium.

This is a nice cable from the manufacturer of both the lights and controllers it is meant to serve. It's absolutely the right tool for the job. The 90 degree adapters provided are absolutely necessary for fishing the cable through the A series mounting tube. The connection seals provided are a great feature as well. You can fit two of these cables and an A360X power cord inside an A series mounting tube. A lot of the other reviews gripe about the following things: "You can buy these cables anywhere for much less." I'm not so sure that is really the case. On Amazon, a similar 10' cable is $12-$15 and does not come with the 90 degree adapters or connection seals. After you add the adapters it's pretty much a wash. Also, a lot of the cables on Amazon say "Power Only" so I'm not sure if they can transmit the data as well as the power between the controller and the lights. I suppose you could gamble on that in an effort to save $5, but I'm not sure why you would. "The cable is too long." People who say this are not considering that there may be scenarios other than their own for connecting lights. I have 2 A360X's on a 75 gallon tank mounted to the back of the stand with the Kessil Extension Mounts. In this configuration I don't have the A Series Mounts inside the tank to manage salt creep. My lights are mounted 2 feet apart and if this cable was even just 1" shorter it would be too short. Since it's so tight, I personally think Kessil would be better off with a 12' cable if their goal is to accommodate all configurations utilizing their own mounting hardware. I'm betting the people who are complaining about the length are not routing the cable through Kessil A series mounting tubes. They might be connecting lights directly to each other inside a full hood or on a hybrid mount. If you're doing that then sure go on Amazon and you can buy a 3' cable and adapters for less, just keep in mind that some of those cables are advertised as "Power Only".
I see a lot of complaints about these being too long and want to chime in. First off, I want to say that everything I've ever bought with the Kessil name on it has been well engineered, and these cables are no exception. The removable 90-degree connector is a must for fishing the cable through the AP9X arm and hides the cable well inside. I was able to conceal the power cable, along with (2) of the K-Link cables in a single arm, as my build is (3) AP9X's daisy chained together for the lighting. The aquarium sits back in a niche and is only accessible from the front, and measures 24" front to back, so I am glad these cables weren't any shorter. While snaking the cables I had to stack (3) salt buckets to rest the AP9X and the support arm on as i fished the wire through. The cable length was perfect in this scenario. Just saying!
I agree with Romain, these are available everywhere (amazon ebay etc) at a length that is more practical without the lazy giant adapter on one end for under 8 bucks. Common people, its just a USB C cable...
I using these to connect four A360X fixtures together. I have them mounted using the mounted extensions and the A series mounting arms. The cables are the perfect length for for spacing the lights apart and running the cable down one tube and up the other. I do think they should have an option for a shorter run. I knocked off a star because they are overpriced for a standard usb c cable.
Well made but way too long. I don’t place my lights 10’ apart. Completely agree with Romain’s review. Ended up replacing with shorter one off eBay
I love Kessil. I love their products. Their tech support is awesome. My refugium and display are all run by Kessil. That being said, I haven’t seen it anywhere else so I thought I’d post it here: This is a basic USB-C cable that you can find anywhere in lengths from 6 inches to 10+ feet. You do NOT have to use the Kessil version for the lights to function properly. I paid $8 for 3, 3 ft cables and another $3 for the 90 degree connectors to make it look “pretty.” In fact you can buy a 3 pack of 10’ cables right now for $8. I don’t claim to know the company’s profit margins but this is an insane markup. BRS should be selling generics in 2, 3, 5, etc on here as alternatives.
Does what is suppose to do. The person bellow seems to just be a cry baby.
I bought one of these cables to go between two of my A360x's to be controlled by the controller. Cable seems to be standard quality nothing special besides from little rubber "washers" at the end of each connector. Not sure what Kessil was thinking but ten feet is way to long and why do they not offer these in multiple sizes. If they state the lights will cover a 24 or 36" area why would anyone need a ten foot cable. The second annoying thing is instead of having a cable that has 90 degree connectors on each side they throw in a giant 90 degree adapter which is twice the height of the fixed 90 degree connector. It shows that they only thought of people who will use their own mounting arms and ignored the customer base who would mount in lower profile canopies. Expensive, bulky and annoying.
