This aragonite reactor calcium reactor media is a coarse grain aragonite media specifically designed for efficient use in calcium carbonate reactors. It serves as an exceptionally pure source of both calcium and carbonate alkalinity, essential elements for a thriving saltwater reef aquarium. Unlike traditional two-part solutions, using this high-quality media helps prevent unwanted increases in salinity over time by only introducing necessary elements and avoiding extra sodium and chloride ions, thereby promoting greater system stability and ease of use.
Crafted to be free of harmful by-products, this media boasts an ideal granule size that ensures optimal surface area while preventing compaction, which can impede water flow through the reactor. It is compatible with any calcium reactor and is effective at maintaining stable calcium and alkalinity levels within your tank. For enhanced performance, approximately 10% ZEOmag Magnesium Granulate can be mixed with the aragonite media. It is available in convenient 1 kg and 4 kg sizes.
This product is perfect for reef aquarium hobbyists who utilize calcium reactors and seek a reliable, pure, and stable source for their tank's calcium and alkalinity needs. It is particularly beneficial for those looking to avoid the salinity creep often associated with two-part dosing methods. Whether used independently or as part of a ZEOvit system or alongside other Korallen-Zucht additives, this media provides a foundational element for maintaining a healthy and vibrant reef environment.

I had a hard time sourcing crush coral, so took a chance and bought this. And surprisingly it's pretty darn good. No complaints!
Yes it requires a lower pH to dissolve in my reactor but it is phosphate free. My 400 gallon system runs from 8.15 to 8.35 and no issues. If your system can tolerate lower pH effluent from your reactor I highly recommend it. I used reborn before but given the high amount of dosing required to keep calcium levels at 8dkh I struggled with phosphate. My system is loaded with SPS.
I just got a calcium reactor set up on an office display tank using this media, I have my pH set to 6.5 and it’s working great. I haven’t gotten the reactor dialed into the tank quite yet, but with a 6.5 ph my effluent is coming out between 35/36 dkh. Just need to get the dose per minute correct, but the media seems to be acting EXACTLY as BRS described in videos where they tested effluent dkh vs pH of the reactor.
I can also confirm the pH of 6.3. I am going to have to switch because dumping something this acidic in my display is throwing off my Ph. The media requires too low of a melting point. Screw this stuff. I can't use this. I guess I will go try the arm of if I can find someReborn.
I could not find this information anywhere, I cant really do a review on this yet, but I spoke via email with KZ and they recommend a internal PH of 6.3 for this media. I hope this helps.
