Description
The Aquatic Life RO TFC Membrane is a high-rejection replacement cartridge for reverse osmosis water purification systems. This component serves as the core of your RO unit, effectively removing up to 98% of total dissolved solids (TDS) from tap water. It utilizes a Thin Film Composite (TFC) design to strip harmful substances, heavy metals, and other contaminants, producing the pure water necessary for mixing saltwater and topping off your aquarium to maintain a stable and healthy reef environment.
This membrane is rated to produce up to 50 gallons per day (GPD) and is constructed from a durable polyamide material with a negative charge to maximize impurity rejection. Measuring a standard 11-3/4 inches, it is designed to fit most standard residential RO housings, including the popular Aquatic Life RO Buddie and other major brands. The spiral-wound and tape-wrapped element ensures structural integrity and is engineered for a long service life of up to two years, providing consistent performance and peace of mind.
This replacement membrane is an essential maintenance item for any saltwater aquarist utilizing a compatible 50 GPD RO or RO/DI system. It is ideal for hobbyists whose existing membrane is nearing the end of its lifespan or is no longer performing efficiently, as indicated by rising TDS levels in the product water. By regularly replacing the TFC membrane, you ensure your system continues to produce the highest quality water, which is fundamental for preventing nuisance algae and protecting sensitive coral and fish from tap water impurities.
