The AquaFX 48,000 Grain Twin-Alternating Metered Water Softener is a whole-house solution designed to provide a continuous, uninterrupted supply of softened water. By utilizing a dual-tank system, one tank remains in service while the other is on standby or regenerating, ensuring that your home and aquarium always have access to high-quality treated water. This process effectively removes hard minerals like calcium and magnesium, which are detrimental to plumbing, appliances, and especially sensitive RO/DI systems used for reef aquariums.

This system features a substantial 48,000-grain capacity per tank, making it suitable for demanding applications. The key to its efficiency is the twin-alternating design coupled with a metered regeneration process. The meter precisely tracks water usage and initiates regeneration only when the resin is near exhaustion, conserving both salt and water. This intelligent operation not only protects your valuable equipment from scale buildup but also improves the efficiency of soaps and detergents, leading to softer skin, cleaner laundry, and significant cost savings over time.

This water softener is ideal for the dedicated reef aquarist or any homeowner in an area with very hard water who requires a constant supply of softened water. For reefkeepers, it serves as a critical first stage of water purification before an RO/DI system, drastically extending the life of expensive RO membranes and DI resin. By eliminating mineral scale, it ensures your purification system operates at peak performance, providing the ultra-pure water necessary for a thriving and stable reef ecosystem.
