The AquaFX Poly-Blown Sediment Filter 20 x 2.5 1 Micron is a crucial pre-filter component for saltwater aquarium RO/DI systems. Designed to effectively reduce a wide range of particulates, it meticulously removes sediment, silt, dirt, sand, scale, and rust particles from your source water. This essential filtration step ensures that subsequent RO and DI stages operate efficiently and are protected from premature clogging, ultimately extending the lifespan and performance of your entire water purification system.

This filter features a robust poly-blown multi-layer gradient design, allowing it to trap particulates effectively while maintaining consistent water pressure and extending filter life. Constructed from 100% pure thermal-bonded polypropylene, it contains no binders, solvents, or glues, ensuring no unwanted chemicals leach into your water. Manufactured to stringent FDA standards using food-grade materials, it boasts a 1-micron rating, large capacity, and high flow capabilities. It is rated for a maximum water temperature of 140F (60C) and a maximum pressure of 120PSI, and should be replaced every 4-6 months or when a 5PSI pressure drop is observed.

Ideal for reef aquarists and hobbyists utilizing an AquaFX Blue Marlin or similar RO/DI unit, this sediment filter is vital for anyone committed to producing pristine, ultra-pure water for their sensitive marine environment. By removing harmful contaminants at the initial stage, it safeguards your delicate livestock and coral, prevents unsightly algae issues, and contributes to the overall stability and health of your reef aquarium. Its reliable performance ensures you consistently have the highest quality source water for mixing saltwater and topping off your tank.
