Description
The AquaFX Granulated Carbon GAC Filter is a high-capacity second-stage filter for your reverse osmosis or deionization system. Expertly designed to remove harmful contaminants, it effectively eliminates chlorine, fluoride, pesticides, herbicides, bad tastes, and odors. By purifying the source water, this filter protects the delicate RO membrane and ensures the water entering your aquarium is free from volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and other impurities that can harm sensitive marine life.
This filter is hand-packed in the USA using sustainable source coconut shell carbon, offering 30% longer life than a standard carbon block filter. It is capable of processing up to 5,000 gallons of water with a 2ppm chlorine level and removes up to 99% of chlorine, taste, and odor. The durable, refillable shell can withstand a maximum water temperature of 140°F and a maximum pressure of 120 PSI. The granulated media is packed loosely to prevent channeling and ensure maximum contact time and efficiency.
This 20" x 4" filter is ideal for reef aquarists using larger RO/DI systems, such as the AquaFX Blue Marlin, who require a long-lasting and reliable carbon filtration solution. It's perfect for hobbyists seeking to produce large volumes of ultra-pure water for water changes and top-offs, ensuring a stable and pristine environment for their coral reef inhabitants. For optimal performance, it is recommended to replace the filter every 4 to 6 months.
