Description
This AquaFX Granulated Activated Carbon (GAC) filter, sized at 10 x 4 inches, is an essential second stage component for your saltwater aquarium reverse osmosis (RO) or RO/DI system. It is highly effective at purifying source water by expertly removing 99% of chlorine, fluoride, pesticides, herbicides, unpleasant tastes, odors, and other volatile organic compounds (VOCs), ensuring a clean and safe foundation for your reef environment.
Crafted from sustainable coconut shell carbon and hand-packed in the USA, this filter boasts a 30% longer life compared to standard carbon blocks. It can efficiently process up to 5,000 gallons of water at 2ppm chlorine or 10,000 gallons at 1ppm. The unit features a convenient refillable shell and is engineered to perform reliably under maximum water temperatures of 140F (60C) and pressures up to 120 PSI.
This filter is perfectly suited for reef aquarists and hobbyists utilizing AquaFX RO/DI systems such as the Barracuda, Dolphin, Moray, Mako, Octopus, Hammerhead, Great White, and Whale Shark, as well as most residential RO systems that accommodate standard 10-inch canisters. Its superior contaminant removal capabilities are crucial for safeguarding RO membranes and producing the ultra-pure water necessary for the health and stability of a vibrant saltwater reef aquarium. For optimal performance, it is recommended to replace this filter every 4-6 months.
