Description
AquaFX Bio Pellets, also known as NP-Active Pearls, are a premium filter media designed to naturally reduce nitrate and phosphate levels in any saltwater or reef aquarium. This 100% biodegradable polymer acts as a solid carbon source, promoting the growth of beneficial bacteria that consume unwanted nutrients directly from the water column. The process provides a stable and effective way to maintain pristine water quality, creating a healthier environment for all fish and corals without the need for chemical additives.
Made in the USA from pure PHA-based polymers, these pellets offer a superior and easier alternative to daily liquid carbon dosing. This 3.8L (1 gallon) container is capable of treating up to 1,260 gallons of aquarium water. For optimal performance, the bio-pellets must be placed in a fluidized reactor that keeps them in constant motion, and the use of a high-quality protein skimmer is strongly recommended to export the bacterial film that is produced. The media should be replenished every 6 to 9 months as it slowly biodegrades.
This product is ideal for the dedicated reef aquarist seeking a reliable, set-and-forget solution for nutrient control. It is particularly beneficial for those with heavily stocked systems or sensitive coral species that require ultra-low nutrient conditions to thrive. By simplifying nutrient management and promoting a stable biological process, AquaFX Bio Pellets help hobbyists achieve clearer water and more vibrant, healthy aquatic life with less frequent maintenance.
