Aqua Ultraviolet Ultima Ultra Media is a premium filter media specifically engineered to optimize biological filtration and support vibrant aquatic life in saltwater reef aquariums. Its advanced design provides an unparalleled environment for beneficial bacteria, which are crucial for processing harmful ammonia and nitrites, thereby maintaining a healthy and stable aquatic ecosystem. This media is designed to efficiently trap solids while promoting superior bio-surface area development. This patented media is extruded from non-wax based plastic, ensuring durability and safety for your delicate reef inhabitants. Its unique small tubular design features external ridges and an internal cross-section, significantly increasing the biological surface area beyond that of many competing products and effectively preventing clumping. The ridged structure also facilitates the formation of a dense bed for exceptional trapping of particulate matter, which can then be easily separated and removed during routine backwashing. The Aqua Ultraviolet Ultima Ultra Media is an ideal choice for serious reef aquarists and hobbyists seeking to elevate their aquarium's filtration capabilities. By providing maximum surface area for nitrifying bacteria and efficient solid waste removal, it helps ensure crystal-clear water, reduced maintenance, and a thriving, pristine environment for all corals, fish, and invertebrates. It is perfect for those aiming for peak water quality and biological stability.
