The Aqua Illumination Nero 5 is a compact, powerful, and fully controllable submersible wave pump designed to create optimal water circulation in saltwater reef aquariums. Its primary function is to generate wide, adjustable flow patterns that mimic natural ocean currents, which is essential for delivering nutrients to corals, removing waste, and eliminating stagnant areas within the tank. By producing a massive amount of flow in a small footprint, it provides the performance of a much larger pump without distracting from the aquascape.

Engineered for performance and control, the Nero 5 boasts an impressive maximum flow rate of 3000 gallons per hour. Its advanced motor design ensures quiet and efficient operation, while its innovative propeller creates a broad flow pattern that covers a large area without blasting corals directly. Using the MyAI app via Bluetooth LE, users can choose from multiple flow modes, including random, pulse, and constant, and create custom schedules to simulate natural oceanic conditions throughout the day.

This powerhead is ideal for the modern reef aquarist with a medium to large aquarium who desires high performance combined with smart, intuitive control. Its powerful output makes it suitable for demanding systems, including SPS-dominant tanks, while its wide, gentle flow is also safe for mixed reefs with LPS and soft corals. Hobbyists who already use other Aqua Illumination products, such as Hydra or Prime lighting, will appreciate the seamless integration into the single MyAI control app.
