The 7 x 16 100 micron polyester filter sock is an essential tool for maintaining water quality in saltwater reef aquariums. Its primary function is to serve as a first-line defense against particulate matter, filtering out uneaten food, detritus, organic waste, dust, and other small particles that can harm the health of your tank's inhabitants. This effective mechanical filtration significantly reduces maintenance tasks such as cleaning pumps and sumps, thereby extending their operational life. Key features include a robust plastic ring for secure placement, 100 micron mesh size to capture fine debris without impeding water flow, and quality stitching ensuring durability over time. This product is ideal for hobbyists looking to maintain crystal clear water while minimizing the accumulation of organic waste that can lead to ammonia and nitrate spikes, thus preserving the delicate balance of a reef environment.
