The VCA NOSOK 7 Inch Replacement Silencer Cup is an innovative filtration solution designed to eliminate the hassle of washing traditional filter socks while maintaining high-surface-area mechanical filtration. This device replaces standard sock holders by utilizing a reusable mesh screen and disposable filter floss that wraps 360 degrees around an inner core, preventing the rapid clogging associated with flat-bottom cups. By combining the efficiency of a sock with the convenience of disposable media, it keeps aquarium water crystal clear without requiring users to deal with foul-smelling laundry buckets.

This unit features a heavy-duty 255-micron nylon mesh screen that unrolls completely flat for maximum filtration surface area and can be easily rinsed under tap water for endless reuse. The system offers versatile setup options, allowing aquarists to run filter floss only, the mesh screen only, or a combination of both to tailor mechanical polishing to specific reef needs. Designed with an overall length of 6 inches from the mounting surface, it fits standard 7-inch round holders requiring a minimum cutout of 6.2 inches and includes an adapter ring for mounting diameters between 6.5 and 7 inches, ensuring compatibility with various sump setups including Red Sea Reefer systems.

This filtration cup is ideal for reef keepers who desire the superior flow and surface area of a filter sock but want to avoid the maintenance burden of constant washing and replacement costs. It serves as a perfect upgrade for those frustrated by clogged traditional cups or the high price tags of automated fleece rollers, offering a flexible middle ground that uses inexpensive standard floss wrapped around a durable core. Whether maintaining a freshwater or saltwater display, this solution provides a reliable, low-maintenance method to achieve pristine water clarity and optimal mechanical filtration efficiency.
