This kit is a replacement reagent supply for the Neptune Systems Trident Marine Water Analyzing System. It provides essential chemicals for automated testing of alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium in saltwater aquariums, ensuring continuous monitoring of critical water parameters. Designed for easy installation, it allows users to maintain optimal water chemistry without manual testing.
This comprehensive kit includes three individual 2-month reagent sets, providing a total of six months of testing based on a default schedule of 4x alkalinity, 2x calcium, and 2x magnesium tests per day. Specifically, it contains 6x Reagent A, 3x Reagent B, 3x Reagent C, and 3x Seawater Calibration Samples. Each 2-month set supports 720 alkalinity tests (reagent changed monthly), 360 calcium tests, and 360 magnesium tests. The reagents have a 12-month shelf life.
This kit is ideal for saltwater aquarium hobbyists utilizing the Neptune Systems Trident Marine Water Analyzing System who seek a convenient, long-term solution for maintaining their automated testing regimen. By providing a half-year supply of reagents, it minimizes the frequency of reordering and ensures consistent, accurate parameter monitoring, which is crucial for the health and growth of corals and other marine inhabitants. It simplifies reef tank maintenance by supporting continuous, hands-off water chemistry analysis.

This is honestly a great bundle, time and money saver. 6 month supply with calibration fluid. High5
Having this is honestly cost saving and time saving. You buy these once and don't buy it again like the title says in six months. Works perfect
These are great. I like having numbers reported to me right away instead of guessing with colors and doing annoying chemistry like experiments to get testing results. You should always have something to help double check the results that come from the trident but it still a great baseline!
I love the trident and love the fact that I can keep a eye on my parameters, it’s funny because I was testing all three of these parameters via Hanna checker and salifert test kits so this makes it SO MUCH EASIER, I’m the type of person that needs to know all of my parameters all of the time and this takes a big load off, one thing I hate is that some of the reagent bottles have “issues” and cause my trident to “fail” a test I had to have Neptune send me a replacement bottle of reagent c because it wouldn’t recognize it as reagent, and this has happened three times, fix your reagent issues other than that I’m loving it.
I have two Trident’s both working great and as said if you stay ahead on ordering you will be fine with reagents love the product and the availability of reagents worth every penny
I to have had the trident from pre pandemic and had to search some sites to get 2 month supply but never did without the unit is invaluable pay the 6Large it’s worth it
Game changer in reefkeeping. Any other sentiment can kill Xenia...
I disagree with the others when it comes to the availability of the product pandemic and pre-pandemic. I have owned the Trident since it was introduced and have never had a time when I couldn't obtain the reagents. That being said, I have had to purchase it from different online stores and purchase the two months supply rather than the 6 month, but was never OUT of the reagents at any given time. Also have never had an issue with the Trident consuming the reagents in a short period of time . I am running 4 tests a day and the reagents last the two months as described.
Seems like that most of the special people down below leaving 1 star reviews seem to have forgot this thing called a Pandemic going on. You people are really something else. Neptune has since started making and shipping the reagent no problem. How dare you people be inconvenienced in any way.
Love my trident. The 6 month supply has been hard to come by because of COVID. But before it hit I had no problem finding them. Now I buy it when I see there in stock just to have Incase of shortages. People get mad saying it don’t last the full 2 months but fail to understand that when you dose something or a do a water change and the parameters rise the trident will run 2 tests of the same Parameter to make sure it giving in accurate result. Would buy the trident again if I had to do it all over.
Don’t buy a trident unless you like getting scammed by Neptune. It uses way more reagent than advertised. This is literally never in stock and the 2 month is priced too high. My trident is a big expensive orange brick most of the time because I can never get reagents reliably.
The pros far outweigh the cons of reagent availability. Also the claim that “it won’t last 6 months” is a false statement. 6 months is the maximum you get if your specific parameters allow the tests to be stretched that far. The higher the alk, the more reagent is used. You get the point. Plan ahead and purchase long BEFORE you run out. Not hard to do. Don’t listen to the negative reviews.
COVID-19 issues related aside, this reagent has consistently been out of stock since the release. The 6 month claim is not accurate by far, especially reagent A as it goes very quickly. I echo the other frustrated reviews on here.
Don't let me buy a trident, and then when it's time to purchase more reagents, be out of stock for multiple months. Ridiculous.
It's been a little frustrating when the reagents (6 months supply) don't last as advertised. I used the set (2 months) that originally came with the Trident and that lasted only 6 weeks!! Since it was my first time, I can move on since there was some initial setup. Then got the 6 months supply set (set of 3 Two month sets) and used the first set around the same time frame of 6 weeks. This is not good from my view point. Adding to this frustration is the lack of supply!!! Come on... how can you sell the Trident that needs the reagents to function and not have a good supply for customers??!
1. How does Neptune systems get away with false advertising. It won’t last 6 mo. 2. The real unicorn is the reagents. Good luck finding it. 3. I can’t believe they still sell tridents when they don’t have 6mo reagents. Sure, I can overpay for 2 mo but I bought trident with the expectation of 200$ a year. Not even close to as advertised. Pathetic. This is like Toyota selling cars knowing that there is no more gasoline. And then telling everyone gas is inexpensive. It’s insane.
6 month supply no complaints here! Love buying in bulk!
I run the trident on 4 tests setting (the minimum it allows). It is using up reagent like crazy. Nothing close to the 6 months supply it states. Last time I got the 2 months supply and it was used up in 3 weeks! What is happening here?? Very frustrating
